Is this Third Man dvd legit?
http://www.dvdplanet.com/product_lis...245&format=DVD
I had no idea there was a regular bare bones edition of the dvd, is it legit?
The Criterion is a bit too much for my wallet, so if it is in fact an official release of the dvd, it could be good news. Any one know how the audio/video compares to the criterion version?

It's official alright. Officially crappy.
Save up and get the Criterion. May not look as good as it did back then, but it's a lot better looking than the cheap public-domain travesties. Most places don't even bother carrying them.
I got the Criterion from DDD for $25.

THE THIRD MAN is in public domain, so you can get crappy transfers of it from any number of sources. The Criterion version is well worth the price -- by a mile the best version available.
