Is the guitar riff in Audioslaves like a stone borrowed?
I think when Tom goes nuts, and lets rip with all the feedback the track reminds me so much of the Fly and the edge's playing.
I don't know a lot about plyaing guitar and all the tools that go into it, but when he lets fly it just sounds like Edge.

If you're talking about the guitar solo, I don't think so. There are only so many chords on a guitar so you will hear some familiarity between different bands. It's a damn good solo though

I saw him play it live and it was pretty much exactly like the CD. He creates some interesting sounds with his guitar that do sound like a synthisier.
Amazing guitarist and one hell of a show.

Every sound on the Audioslave and Rage records were always authentic, no synth needed. The guy has always been pretty creative with the guitar. Personally I enjoy the more straight forward solos of the first Rage album, but I love all their stuff (and audioslaves and soundgardens lol.)
