Upcoming Velvet Underground Deluxe Edition?
I heard a rumor that Universal is planning to release the Velvet Underground 3rd LP, The Velvet Underground. Is there any truth to these claims?
This of course is just my luck since I purchased the regular edition last week. Oh well, I will probably buy the deluxe edition anyhow

Yeah, I heard this, too. I assume it will be a 2 disc set with the closet mix (currently in the box set) on 1 disc & the single release mix on the 2nd disc plus bonus tracks. I'm almost hoping it won't be anything too special because I'd rather not buy it again...
Before that comes out, there is supposed to be a 2 disc version of Live at Max's Kansas City. I don't have details on that either except I've read 2 different release dates: July or October.

I wonder if there's plans to release a second volume in the "Bootleg" series that came out a year or so ago? That was really a fantastic treasure trove of live VU performances, I love listening to it.

A "Deluxe Edition" of "The Velvet Underground", 3rd
album, will be a remastering and many tracks from the "Another View" and "VU", and mixes of the album itself. According to Universal sources, the release of a Deluxe 2CD edition of The Velvet Underground third album, was on hold.
According to Record Collector UK magazine (June 2003 issue, No 286), there will be a 2-CD remastered and expanded version of The Velvet Underground's Live at Max's Kansas City is due to emerge from Rhino/Warners during July. This release is not yet confirmed on Rhino Records website.
