Summer 2003 Box Office Game

I should have done a thread like this earlier in the summer. We always have a thread each week predicting the box office takes for the weekend's big films. But I want to see who can predict these things the best not just a day before it opens, but several weeks. Below is a list of the big summer releases, predict what the Friday-Sunday take will be for each of them on their respective opening weekend. At the end of the summer we can see who on this board was the most accurate.

Just a few rules . . .

1. No editing posts. It is harder to predict the opening weekend for a film like American Wedding now than it would be on August 1st.
2. Everyone must get in on this ASAP. Post your predictions before this weekend so that we can all be on the same page.
3. Only do the Friday - Sunday take, it will be too hard to try and remember what movies come out on Wednesdays.
4. Make predictions for all 13 films below, and only the 13 films below. I would actually like to see everyone on the same page so at the end of the summer we can accurately see who was the closest.
5. Round all answers to the nearest million.

Hulk -- 82 Million
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle -- 56 Million
Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde -- 28 Million
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines -- 59 Million
Pirates of the Caribbean -- 48 Million
League of Extrodianary Gentlemen -- 32 Million
Bad Boys II -- 48 Million
Tomb Raider 2 -- 37 Million
Spy Kids 3-D -- 16 Million
Seabiscuit -- 24 Million
American Wedding -- 46 Million
SWAT -- 23 Million
Freddy Vs. Jason -- 21 Million

Hulk and T3 are only going to make $10 million? Bad Boys II is only going to make $5 million? I don't know if this was a joke post or not, but I wouldn't put any money down on these

The three movies I mentioned are all going to top $50 million each in there first weekend.

The more you care about the box office take of a film...
the less of a quality film you'll get next time.

What's up with these crap threading, this is the second one out of the 12 posts? If you don't care about the box office numbers, why even bother reading this thread? Gotta love movie snobs!

Re: Summer 2003 Box Office Game

I'm game. Something makes me think I will look back on this and laugh at how bad it was. It would probably help if I knew if a movie opened on a Wednesday, since it'll effect the 3 day total, but oh well.

Hulk -- 87 Million
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle -- 63 Million
Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde -- 42 Million

OK, no more predictions since Hulk came out today. Glad to see I wasn't the only person on here who thought this was a cool idea.

Woo hoo! Got closest number for Hulk among those who participated. (65 predicted vs 62 real). Unless we play like The Price is Right and you can't go over. Then the guy who predicted 58 would be the closest.
