I started playing it yesterday (don't ask how). I'm not very far, only played through the first battle in the training of the campaign. There are some minor changes that I've seen. The scoring is different, now you get between 0 and 100 points in the 3 categories (instead of just a bar). You can take the points you earn and buy maps and CO's. Max and Sami are 150 points, the cheapest map was 500 points. So far I think I'm going to like that better. You can also move a mouse style cursor around the campaign map to select the battle you want to fight. Right now I've only had one to choose from, later in the game (I believe) you'll be able to choose your path.

I'm not sure how much time I'll have to play today, but I'd like to get through the training to see the new troops and stuff that are available. This game will take much of my life as the first one did.

I played it as well....The art style is a little more refined, which i like. But there's not a lot of new unit variety, although the campaign mode has plenty of variety. I'm still going to buy it no matter what though.

I agree, so far it's pretty much the same game with slightly better graphics. Since I don't play it for the graphics that's no big deal.

The story line is pretty good, I finished the first continent (Orange Star). No new units in the first continent, just training on the units from the last time. It was a nice refresher and the battles were fun (but easy). One nice thing is that it's not as restrictive as the training mode was in the last one, you can button through all the jabbering and the battles are a bit more in depth. There are a few new emeny concepts in the first continent.

Definitely one of the best games out there, especially if you liked the first one. Wario Ware will be gathering dust for a month or two....

Hm, i guess my theory about the GBA being the best system ever continues to gain support. Now all we need is a MGS game for GBA...

I am sooooo very stoked for this game. I was recently able to go through and beat Advance Campaign, and pick up quite a few S's in those skirmish levels, of whose name eludes me now...

Does this game come out this week? I didn't see any deals for it... not even the 27.99 Target sale that most 1st party GBA games get.

Lots of things break street dates, but you usually don't see them advertised in sale circulars ahead of the street dates. That's why it wouldn't be on sale (at least in an advertised sale) until the week after it was released. Is it out in all stores already or are just some breaking the street date?

I checked a Wal-Mart and a Target for it this weekend, thinking that one of them might have it out early... no luck so far.

Target seems to be the price to beat. It's about a dollar more at Wal-Mart, and $2 more at K-Mart, I think. $30 at Best Buy, I believe.

I went to BB yesterday, and they did not have the game.
I asked the only employee working on the video game
section about it. He did not have a clue about the game
or when it was coming out.

Every store gets every kind of electronic media in on Tuesdays... we just sometimes get these oddball release dates that apparently mean they have to sit on them for 1, 2 or 3 days before they can shelve it legally.

Anybody know if it's possible to replay a battle after you've already saved it? I missed the map in Blue Moon and would like to go back for it.

I picked this game up this week from BestBuy for $19. It was on sale for $24.99, and I applied the $5 gamers coupon.

Hopefully this will give me something fun to play on my train commute to/from work. The first Advance Wars was a blast to play, and afterward I looked for other fun games to play. Zelda and Golden Sun were totally boring to me and I quite playing them after several hours each. I was back to reading books instead of playing my GBA during the commute.

I think Advance Wars 2 will change that.

Zelda was a good game, but i had done everything in it before, so i got bored fast. I have no one to play the multiplayer with.

Golden Sun 1 and 2 are overrated. They're boring and the puzzles are elementary.

Any other opinions on the game? I'll probably get it at Fry's for 23 bucks, since the local Best Buys don't apply coupons to sale prices...

I've heard that the balance of the units gets shot once you start getting Neotanks. And also that the ranking system is out. Anything else?
