I would guess we all have a scene in a film you hate to admit really got to you, or you feel silly because it did. I have to admit I've seen Star Trek 2 conservatively 150 times, and I still feel like I really lose a friend when Spock dies, even though I know he will be back soon (and I've never watched the end with a dry eye).

Actually, Titanic does it for me.

In the end, when Rose (Winslett) is in the boat with the other children and ladies, and they're all lowered from the sinking Titanic. DiCaprio watches from above and assures her that he'll join her later in another boat. Rose wants to believe him. DiCaprio knows it won't happen, and he won't see her again.

I think that's sad- saying goodbye to someone you love when you know it will be the last time you see her, and that she isn't aware that it's the last time.

4 out of 5 times I watch "The Color Purple", I cry whenever Nellie and Cellie get back together. It's so incredibly well photographed, and if I pick up an hour of prelouge to that moment, I'll be bawlin like a baby. Not embarassed so much, but I don't go around telling other people generally.

I also get verklempt in Steel Magnolias whenever That does shame me since it's such an unabshed chick flick.

And I didn't see "It's a Wonderful Life" until I was 18 or 19, and wow, that really socked it to me emotionally watching that. I"m embarassed just recounting that reaction.

For me it's the final scene (the candlelight vigil) in Pay It Forward... I normally wear my heart on my sleeve anyways, but this scene doesn't help!

Me, too. In fact, I saw this in a packed theater with my wife, and as I started losing it, I started sinking down in the seat, trying not to attract attention to myself as tears rolled down my face. My wife turns to me, starts rubbing my arm and says "Oooh, are you OK?" I didn't leave the house for a week after that.

I was watching E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial last night and lost it near the end. For most people it's the whole friendship aspect between E.T. and Elliot that gets them weaping, for me it was the fact the a bunch of kids (several of whom never even met E.T.) risked their lives to save him. And the fact the the kids friendship with each other was so deep that they didn't even question it when asked to help...Damn I'm a sissy!
