A emotional moment in a film you hate to admit? Possible Spoilers

I would guess we all have a scene in a film you hate to admit really got to you, or you feel silly because it did. I have to admit I've seen Star Trek 2 conservatively 150 times, and I still feel like I really lose a friend when Spock dies, even though I know he will be back soon (and I've never watched the end with a dry eye).

Actually, Titanic does it for me.

In the end, when Rose (Winslett) is in the boat with the other children and ladies, and they're all lowered from the sinking Titanic. DiCaprio watches from above and assures her that he'll join her later in another boat. Rose wants to believe him. DiCaprio knows it won't happen, and he won't see her again.

I think that's sad- saying goodbye to someone you love when you know it will be the last time you see her, and that she isn't aware that it's the last time.

This scene in Schindler's List always gets to me. The words just don't do it justice......

Oskar Schindler: I could've gotten more out. I could've gotten more people if I just tried harder. I threw away so much money. You have no idea. If I just...

Itzhak Stern: There are over 100 families here as a result of what you did.

Oskar Schindler: I didn't do enough!

Itzhak Stern: You did so much.

Oskar Schindler: This car. Why did I keep the car? Amon would've bought this car. 10 people right there. This pin, 2 people, This is gold! 2 people he could've given me 2 people at least one. One person. One person who is dead. One person I could've gotten out and I didn't!!

4 out of 5 times I watch "The Color Purple", I cry whenever Nellie and Cellie get back together. It's so incredibly well photographed, and if I pick up an hour of prelouge to that moment, I'll be bawlin like a baby. Not embarassed so much, but I don't go around telling other people generally.

I also get verklempt in Steel Magnolias whenever
Spoiler:
Julia Roberts dies.
That does shame me since it's such an unabshed chick flick.

And I didn't see "It's a Wonderful Life" until I was 18 or 19, and wow, that really socked it to me emotionally watching that. I"m embarassed just recounting that reaction.

For my wife, its the end of Apollo 13.

For me it's the final scene (the candlelight vigil) in Pay It Forward... I normally wear my heart on my sleeve anyways, but this scene doesn't help!

Me, too. In fact, I saw this in a packed theater with my wife, and as I started losing it, I started sinking down in the seat, trying not to attract attention to myself as tears rolled down my face. My wife turns to me, starts rubbing my arm and says "Oooh, are you OK?" I didn't leave the house for a week after that.

I, too, feel the shame, but not from that scene. I always lose it when
Spoiler:
Sally Field loses it at the funeral.

All right, that does it for me.

I don't hate to admit it, but the last few minutes of Grave of the Fireflies had me bawling the first time I saw it.

Forrest Gump does it to me too, but only at the part where
Spoiler:
Forrest meets little Forrest for the first time and asks if he's smart or slow
The look on Tom Hanks' face gets me every time.

I was watching E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial last night and lost it near the end. For most people it's the whole friendship aspect between E.T. and Elliot that gets them weaping, for me it was the fact the a bunch of kids (several of whom never even met E.T.) risked their lives to save him. And the fact the the kids friendship with each other was so deep that they didn't even question it when asked to help...Damn I'm a sissy!
