Sound output.

I plan to buy components for my home theater but I was just wondering is there a difference in sound between a coaxial and optical output? Also if the receiver has a DTS decoder does the DVD Player have to have DTS output also or as long as the receiver has a DTS decoder any DVD player will do DTS sound?

1. Supposidly, the best sound output is through coaxial and not optical. Either or is fine, just depends what inputs/outputs are on your receiver/DVD player.

2. Yes, the DVD player MUST have DTS out in order for the receiver to decode it. Most modern DVD players have both DD and DTS out, so there's no need to really worry about it.
