Fountains of Wayne

I guess the subject says it all , but there's an article at http://www.billboard.com/billboard/d...ent_id=1834514 with a little more about the deal and their upcoming album "Welcome Interstate Managers"

Come one come all..cause we're having a ball...we're just making some calls to strangers.....

Seriously I was begining to wonder about Fountains of Wayne. I'm glad to see they'll have a new album out soon.

Now if we can only get another deal for Matthew Sweet...

I ditto everything Captain says. (Except for what I assume is the "Crank Yankers" theme song. Could care less about that... )

Fountains of Wayne's new CD!

Forget the Radiohead/Metallica/Jewel CDs! Get the new Fountains of Wayne! It's called "Welcome Interstate Managers". I really liked Utopia Parkway, and this is even better! "Stacy's Mom" is just hilarious.

Here' s a nice new article on CNN:

http://www.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/Musi...yne/index.html

And a collective review from metacritic - current score, 93/100!

http://www.metacritic.com/music/arti...statemanagers/

Yes, I'm a fan Can you tell?

I just recently got into them and picked up their two prior CDs (which I love). Just came from Best Buy to pick up "Old School" and almost got the new disc, but BB wanted $14.99. Add tax to that and it's a bit much for a CD. I'll order it from Deep Discount CD or someplace and wait a few days for it to arrive. It'll make the anticpation that much greater.

I've been listening to the new album for a few weeks thanks to an "advance copy" that I do-er, received. I'll be picking up the CD very soon.

Can't wait to hear comments from others here. Love the band -- first two albums were great. The reviews for this one seem very positive so far -- will definitely have to pick up this up in the not-too-distant future.

This is their first release in 4 years, so whatever "hip" cachet they might have had has probably faded forever. But they might possibly be the best pop band on the planet.

I'm not surprised. I think the most coverage they got was when the MTV Movie Awards nominated Titanic for best picture, and for its award montage, MTV played "Sink To The Bottom" over it.

Oh, they're funny guys, aren't they

Excellent new CD! I purchased it last night, listened to it twice and cranked it up on the way to work this morning.

I'll be seeing them live on July 5th!!!

The local indie shop didn't have any copies at all for sale. That struck me as odd. I guess I'll have to stop by Best Buy or something.

Okay, I've heard "Sink to the Bottom" before. Whew, I'm not as out of it as I thought.

Anyone know the cheapest place to buy this? It's 13.99 at most retail stores and can't really find it much cheaper at the main online stores either.

I've listened to the new disc a few times now. I love it...possibly even better than Utopia Parkway, if that's possible. Favorite songs so far..."Mexican Wine," "Bright Future in Sales," "Hey Julie," and "Bought for a Song."

I really hope their tour reaches Las Vegas sometime this year.

Picked it up yesterday at Virgin with the new Radiohead. I haven't listened to it yet but played Sick Day for my roommate last night (my fav FOW song) when we were talking about great lyrics. It's about time they put put something new!
