Don't know him, but I guess I will see him in 'Pirates'

Yikes! Now I know him, from 'Mortal Kombat'. I thought he was a great villian in that movie.

I just saw him in a commercial on TV yesterday for some kind of cleaning appliance (it was like a vaccum, but scrubbed floors) and I was thinking at the time "Hey, it's that guy from JAG" as well as "why is he doing such a crappy commercial?"

I hope this wasn't the answer to that last question I was thinking...

Its Mic! I noticed the same floor cleaner commercial. A random kangaroo is invading a woman's kitchen and here come Mic to save the day. My thoughs were; "He left a hit CBS show for a commerical?"

Sad that he died though.

Actor Found Dead In Southland Home
Coroner: Death May Have Been Suicide

UPDATED: 1:09 p.m. PDT June 9, 2003

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Muscleman actor Trevor Goddard, a former boxer who once had a recurring role on the TV series "JAG" and plays a pirate in the upcoming movie "Pirates of the Caribbean," died in an apparent suicide, investigators said Monday. He was 37.

Goddard's body was found in his North Hollywood home on Sunday by a woman who also lived at the location, according to Officer Grace Brady, a police spokeswoman. Police said they could not disclose her relationship to Goddard.

An autopsy was planned Monday but the death had already been classified as suicide with prescription drugs, said Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.

Corral said Goddard was in the midst of a divorce and his estranged wife, Ruthann, was in San Francisco during the weekend. The couple has two young sons.

Born in Perth, Australia, Goddard's work as a professional boxer led to an acting role in a beer commercial.

From there he had a small role in the 1994 action film "Men of War" and played the martial-arts fighter Kano in 1995's "Mortal Kombat," based on the popular fighting video game.

In 1998, Goddard began a recurring part on the military TV series "JAG" as Lt. Cmdr. Michael "Mic" Brumby, a role he played until 2001. Other film credits include 1998's "Deep Rising," an uncredited role in 2000's car-theft thriller "Gone in 60 Seconds" and the role of Grapple in Disney's upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl."

Two young sons without a father now!

On the vacuum cleaner thing...I've been seeing these commercials for years, since before he joined JAG. I don't know if its the same product, but maybe he reprised his TV commercial role for a new product.

Well that make more sense. I thought he was very good on JAG and couldn't understand why he was doing those stupid commercials. After see the commercial I did a google on him and he did some decent stuff.

So perhaps your right. He was "re-prising" a commercial role. Or perhaps he was still under contract with the company from before.

Very sad...

'Pirates' Actor's Death Ruled Accidental
Goddard Dies From Drug Overdose

UPDATED: 7:06 a.m. PDT August 5, 2003

LOS ANGELES -- Coroner's officials ruled that actor Trevor Goddard's June 9 death was from an accidental drug overdose and was not a suicide.

Goddard, 37, had a recurring role on the military TV series "JAG" and appeared as a pirate in "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl."

Investigators had classified the death a suicide but Craig Harvey of the Los Angeles County coroner's office said Monday that an accidental multiple drug overdose killed Goddard. An autopsy showed Goddard had taken heroin, cocaine and prescription drugs, Harvey said.

Goddard, the father of two children, was going through a divorce.

Born in Perth, Australia, Goddard's work as a professional boxer led to an acting role in a beer commercial. He portrayed the martial-arts fighter Kano in the 1995 film "Mortal Kombat" and was Lt. Cmdr. Michael "Mic" Brumby on "JAG" from 1998-2001.

He had a very small part as one of the 'dead' pirates, when they attacked the city at night. He had one line, I think.

I think so. I'm not good at remember lines, but I remember him being hit by the sign. You can't mistake his voice, it was the same character voice, when he was the villian in Mortal Kombat!

I just saw the cleaner commercial with him in it... why are they still showing these things if he's dead? It seems a bit disrespectful.

Are his kids get some of the money at least?

I imagine it's because the company paid good money in order to have the commercials made, and they are in the right to get returns on their investment. Afterall, The Twilight Zone movie, and The Crow were still released. Granted, I know it's on a much different scale, but is the csame concept
