Pang Brothers horror film THE EYE opens in NY and LA
Wonderfully low-key and atmospheric horror film - I thought this was 1000 times better than THE RING. (I haven't seen it in the theater - only on the HK DVD). The reviews in the major papers have been mostly positive, and if you have a chance, check it out!

Is the HK DVD worth getting? I have seen that HKFlix has it for about $17 and I was thinking of getting it. How is the picture quality and the sound quality? Or should I wait for a US release of it?

You can get it for about $12-$13 shipped from dddhouse.com (a ver reputable HK DVD retailer). The more discs you buy, the lower the per-disc postage will be.

Saw this on import DVD. Decent film with a few good scares, unfortunately coming on the heels of The Ring it will be compared to it (whether that's good or bad you decide).

Weak movie, but I'm content with the DVD itself.
Don't understand The Ring comparisons.. well except that they're both "asian" films (but since one is Japanese and one is Chinese, doesn't that kind of make it like calling a French Film an American film?).
Tom Cruise's company picked up rights to remake this one as well.. oh joy *sarcasm*
On a side note.. I need to check out Dark Water still...
