Everything about this game is cool. Do missions. Go around killing people and see how long you can stay alive. Have you even started the missions?

Leave your hideout - make a right and then your first right... make a left and find a hooker walking on the sidewalk - pull up next to her and stop the car... wait for one to start leaning in to talk to you - she'll get in the car. Drive to where there's grass... doesn't have to be hidden or whatever - just grass. Stop the car and it'll start to shake like she's doing you. You'll lose money as long as she's in the car, but while the car's rockin, you gain health - it's the only way to go above 100 health. Make sure you kick her out of the car and then beat her ass and take your money back. Don't try this in real life.

(You don't actually have to get through the game first, but it's recommended.)

One thing you can do is just walk around. There's a lot of little side areas that you don't normally see as you speed around the city. It's also helpful to know where some of this stuff is for when you do missions.
Another fun thing to do is see how many "Badges" you can rack up before you get wasted or busted.

Can't you get more then 100 health by completing the fire truck, taxi or police missions or is that only Vice City?

lol, ok i did the hooker thing, very satisfying. Too bad I can't pick up more than 1 at a time. They need to do more stuff like this and make it a bit more adult rated to satisfy the pervs out there
I go around killing people but it's usually the same ones so it's no fun after you kill them 5 or 6 times. I like blowing off their arms or legs or head.

True - but most people do those missions later... I knew someone would say something.

Btw, I think you can pick up more then one hooker at a time. I could be wrong, but I thought I heard it somewhere. Try it out!

Try this checklist (in order) -
Portland
1) Find all hidden packages
2) Do 100 taxi missions
3) Collect listed cars and emergency vehicles for drop-off at the docks
4) Do ambulance missions until you are at level 12
5) Do 20 fireman missions (look out for the Mr Whoopee truck )
6) Do 20 cop missions
7) Do all rampages
8) Do all the unique jumps
9) Do all the Toyz RC missions
10) Start your career by taking missions from crime bosses. Finish one boss at a time so you don't miss any missions.
All the activities listed above are fun and educational in their own way. You'll learn where the streets go, where items are stashed, and how to keep your cool in exciting situations The money you earn is also very good.
When you finish in Portland and move to Staunton, repeat steps 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10 on Staunton's streets. Finish Staunton, move in on Shoreside and repeat 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10 in the 'burbs of Shoreside.
As soon as you have access to the airport in Shoreside, grab a wingless plane (Dodo) and learn to make it fly. Even if you never use it on a mission, it is a great see-what-I-can-do experience
(edited to add Toyz to list)
