Every once in awhile you will see a director who makes a cameo in his own movie. How about producers?I can only think of Robert Shay of the Nightmare on Elm St. movies.I am talking producers only not director/producers.

Tsui Hark in A Better Tomorrow & I Love Maria (not just a cameo in that one but a co-starring role) and maybe others. He's produced alot of HK films and likes making film appearances (not just in his own).
(I'm not sure about your criteria about director/producers. Tsui is both but in the films mentioned above, he was just the producer)

Just thought of another one- Lawrence Bender in Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction ("long haired yuppie scum" ) and The Intruder
After I posted this, I checked imdb, and he also made cameos in Knockaround Guys, The Mexican, From Dusk til Dawn, Four Rooms, White Man's Burden, Fresh - all films that he produced or executive produced. I think he started out as an unsucessful actor (here's one way to get into a movie, produce it)

IIRC, Peter Jackson was the Producer, Director, Special Effects, and sometime Cameraman in Bad Taste, as well as acting in not one, but two roles!
