Apollo 13: The IMAX Experience - anyone seen it?

Anyone seen Apollo 13 in an IMAX theater recently? Its playing in Raleigh and Im wondering what people think and what they cut out to make it fit the IMAX running time limit.

The cuts were about 20 minutes worth, and the original widescreen ratio is cropped to fit the narrower IMAX screens.

Is this or will this be a nation-wide IMAX re-release? This is one of my favorite films and I would love to see it on the BIGGGG screen since I missed it the first go-round at IMAX.

It's been in IMAX release for some time now. Your local IMAX theatre might have chosen not to book it or it hasn't been available to them yet.

I realize that. I believe it was released to IMAX in 2001 or 2002. However, I was surprised to read it was playing again at an IMAX somewhere and was wondering if it had been re-released nationally.

There have been several feature films that were reformatted for IMAX including Apollo 13 but they have long since left my area. Once in a while a film has returned. However, I do not know whether that was a national or local decision.

This movie was shot in Super 35 so they shouldn't have had to P&S it. They probably just opened up the shot to make it square.
