Weiss brothers working on Elric script

According to the latest issue of Cinescape ( with Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft on the cover) Paul and Chris Weiss are working on the script for the Elric Saga with author Michael Moorecock overseeing the whole project.

Is anyone familiar with these two guys? What else have they done?

It's "Weitz". They wrote Antz, and adapted/directed About a Boy.

They're most well-known for having directed American Pie.

They surprised me with the quality and sensitivity of About a Boy but they would not be my first or even tenth choice for this job.

We shall see. I have a feeling this one will just end up in 'development hell.'

Well Peter Jackson would never have been MY choice to direct another fantasy clasic but here's hoping Elric turns out as good as LOTR

I forgot to mention that Jude Law's name is currently being "thrown out there" as they say, to play Elric.
