Sorry but how could this get a PG-13? If I remeber, that movie had alot of language, and for the most part its 3 f bombs at the absolute most and they cannot be sexually related.

There's no way that Matrix Reloaded should get a PG-13. The sex scene and all the see through clothing in the rave scene was definitely R-rated material. I don't agree with giving an automatic R-rating if there are kicks to the head, but the sexual content was definitely R-rated material IMHO.

Besides, in England they'd have to take out all the head buts

I agree with this, though it does show them smoking pot, if I remember correctly. Is that an immediate R?

The Frighteners needs to be changed to PG-13. Really, is a bad CGI effect of a guy getting his head blown off that bad?

Way of the Dragon aka Return of the Dragon deserves a PG rating. It's totally harmless compared to Lee's other movies.

Born Losers has a quite a bit of rough stuff for a PG.

Legend of the Lone Ranger has the highest body count I've ever seen for a PG-rated film.

Legend of Drunken Master: Pg-13

I agree that Matrix Reloaded deserved its R. Some of the scenes they might have to cut for pg-13 (Rave scene, odd resturant scene) might actually improve the movie.

I think the problem is that the R rating needs to be split into two...In britain they have ratings of 12, 15, and 18, but here we just have pg-13 and R. Movies like Matrix reloaded are 15, and something like Gangs of New York is 18. I think that sort of division makes a lot more sense.

No. It means it was rated before PG-13 ever existed.

Actually, the PG-13 rating came out in 1984, so it was around when Breakfast Club was released (1985).

Actually now looking back there are plenty of F-words in this, so that's the reason for the R-rating. I just remembered Bender's "F--- YOU!" as the monitor walks out of the room, but looking at the script off the web shows a whole bunch of them.

I remember watching Circle of Friends and wondering how it was rated PG-13 while other films with the same amount of sexuality say for instance, The Joy Luck Club got an R.

There was blantant humping in both, Circle of Friends should've gotten an R as well.

Has anyone else heard that the sex scene in Rainman was put into the film so they could get an R rating. It would makes sense because i really don't remember much else in that film that deserved an R rating.

No joke - killer spiders, monkeys throwing knives, attacking bats, giant insects...

From Roger Ebert's review of the same film:

"The movie itself is likely to send younger children fleeing from the theater, or hiding in their parents' arms. Those who do sit all the way through it are likely to toss and turn with nightmares inspired by its frightening images. Whoever thought this was a family movie (the MPAA rates it PG - not even PG-13!) must think kids are made of stern stuff."

Nothing going on in that scene except for some moaning.

And Cruise yelled out a couple of "F" bombs throughout the film.

No....you've got it backwards....Joy Luck Club should've been PG-13.

And the absolute most ridiculous R rating i've seen in recent years was for Bowling for Columbine. That should be PG for cryin out loud......it is teens who SHOULD be watching that film.....you don't have to like Moore to realize what a snow job that rating is.
