Columbia House TV DVDs - How is the quality?

How good is the quality of the Columbia House TV series DVDs?

I see they now offer the Alien Nation TV series on DVD, but I am hesitant to order them without first hearing some reviews.

In general, they tend to be similar in quality to the VHS tapes. I've seen the Knight Rider DVD and compared it to the VHS... it had the usual DVD advantages (stronger colors, slightly sharper/more stable picture), but it was taken from the exact same source.

But... since they offer the first DVD for about $4 shipped with no obligation, why be hesitant to order?
