What was the first album you ever bought?

I bought "Toys In The Attic" by Aerosmith in 1975. Still a great record!

Billy Joel - Greatest Hits Vol. 1 and 2 was the very first CD I bought.

As for cassette, I think it was a Monkees album.

Led Zepplin II if memory serves. Houses of the Holy, Van Halen II, and several Kiss albums were also probably among the first 20 or so, all on vinyl.

No idea on first cassette.

I think that Tori Amos: Little Earthquakes was the first CD I ever bought.

First cassette I bought with my own money was either Beach Boys: Endless Summer or Paula Abdul: Forever your Girl.
First CD, Janet Jackson: Rythem Nation

Ah, the things you listen to before you know what real music is.

Richard Marx - Rush Street was the first CD that I bought on my 16th Birthday when I got my first CD player. Wow... that was 10 years ago!

It was also the first CD that I damaged beyond repair by dropping the case. It popped open and the disk came out, but as it did it made a huge gouge in the disc!

Queen - The Game

I bought this back in 1980 when I was in 4th grade.

I'm glad it's not something embarrasing like Depeche Mode (which I think was the 2nd album I bought).

I think my first purchase may have been Ozzy's first solo album. I really didn't buy many albums back then as I had little cash. I do know that I didn't have a turntable at the time and deliberately bought a tape when I purchased the album so a friend could make me a taped copy that I could play at home! How sad is that?!?!
