Planetside - Who's getting it?

Release date is supposed to be today. I've heard nothing but rave reviews so far, which makes me afraid to pick it up. I don't want to fall into yet another time sinkhole.

Anyone get it today and tried it out? Give us a mini-review!

Well, I've been playing it for a couple of weeks now and I'm having fun. I didn't really like it the first couple of days. The game takes some getting used to and there are lots of things to learn. My problem too, was picking the right certifications. I first tried Advanced Medic, but nobody stands still long enough to heal and I didn't have a decent weapon. I died a lot. I switched to Sniper cert and I'm having a lot more fun. Since at least with sniping, I can solo if I don't feel like grouping. The game needs a good PC to run at decent detail. I have an Athlon 2100+, GF 4 4600 128MB, and 512MB RAM. I have to turn all the details down to medium or low and drop the res to 1024x768 to get good framrates in big battles. I know I don't have a top of the line computer, but I can usually run games better than this. It's probably the fact that there are so many people. I'm going to upgrade my computer in September, for HL2. Don't know if I'll still be playing PS by then though. It's fun capturing bases and towers, but I hope they do add some more content to keep it interesting. It's a fun game, but I don't know how long it's going to stay fun. Well, I'll decide once my free month is up. Right now I'm having fun.

Yes. It's $12.99 a month after the first month which is why I didn't even consider it as a purchase. I'd rather invest that coinage in SW Galaxies or FFXI for a Subscription game. The reviews were not all that super and $50 + high Subscription fees makes no sense to me.
