Top 10 Sequels?

And what exactly counts as a sequel? Can you use the 3rd film (I did) in a trilogy? And what about a film like 'Star Wars' which is technically the 4th part of a series? James Bond doesn't count.

1. Godfather II
2. The Road Warrior
3. Blade 2
4. X2
5. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
6. Aliens
7. T2
8. Die Hard with a Vengeance
9. Lethal Weapon 2
10. Predator 2

  • Back to the Future Part II - Most creative sequel ever made. It bends the rules of the sequel, in that it actually has the ability of the use of time travel to go back to events in the original movie and completely turn them upside down. A MARVELOUS job by Zemeckis and Gale. Lots of eye-candy in the 2015 scenes as a bonus.<ui>

  • A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors - just as good, if not better, than the first Great script by Frank Darabont of the "Shawshank Redemption."<ui>

  • Rocky III: More exciting than the original. Gets your adreneline pumping. Stallone should have gone out in glory and ended the series with this.<ui>

  • Escape from the Planet of the Apes: Tons better than the 2nd entry, "Beneath the Planet of the Apes." Actually brings some comic element to the sci-fi saga, by reversing the premise and making the APES the fishes-out-of-water in present-day America. It also must have saved the studio a bundle by letting them film in L.A. than building expensive soundstages.<ui>

Funny how tastes vary. Both Predator 2 and Ghostbusters II are on my most hated movies of all time list. My favorite sequels….

    Aliens
    T2
    Toy Story 2
    X2

I’m sure I’m forgetting some. I dig Bride of Frankenstein, though I never really thought of it as a sequel.

I don't wanna think about 10, but my #1 all time favorite sequel is Indian Jones & The Temple of Doom. That's my #1 all time favorite childhood movie...it also probably explains why I was such a crazy kid from age 5-10.

Not in any particular order, although they are numbered...

    1. T2
    2. Godfather II
    3. Aliens
    4. The Empire Strikes Back
    5. Back To The Future Part 2
    6. Evil Dead 2

    8. X2

That's all I can think of at the moment...I'm assuming the Matrix: Reloaded will be part of the list after I see it.

Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo is in my top ten just for having the best damned sequel title ever.
