New JBL sub: polarity question

I recently added a sweet powered JBL sub to my mixing setup (not HT). On the rear panel, there is a switch to reverse the polarity of the speaker. I know people do this in car audio in "push/pull" box configs, but I was wondering what the application for this would be for a PA system. The manual is very vague, explaining that you CAN do it, but no description of why...
Thanks!
Jon

If you end up with a peak/lull at your setting position this switch might help. Its also to help with matching phase of your sats.

(Really it wont do anything you can notice )
