So... which companies had the best "free crap" at E3 this year???

Who gave out the best freebies this year, and what were they?

What did the big guys (PS2, xbox, etc) give out to the Working Press at their news confrences?

I know at E3's of the past I got some cool stuff as a writer, but I haven't heard if anything great was given out this year.

Were there any freebies that people were just going ape-**** over?

I wanted a Half-Life 2 shirt as well. I ended up getting a Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon shirts. All I wanted was a Half-Life 2 shirt. Is that too much to ask?

So... which companies had the best "free crap" at E3 this year???

It's hard to say, these are the ones I saw...

nvidia T-shirts for getting 8 stamps on a "passport"; they had 12 different designs.

Half-life 2 T-shirt. Didn't get one either.

Bandai had dot Hack 3.0 "Outbreak" and 4.0 "Quarntine" T-shirts. You get one after completing a mini grunty race.

DOA volleyballs. The "live" DOA girls were tossing them out after the end of their fashion show. Tecmo also handed out Monster Rancher 4 frisbees.

Nintendo had the Mario Kart Double Dash T-shirts, as well as protective carrying case for GBA SPs. Got 2 of each.

Sony gave away Gran Turismo 4 T-shirts and hats for test driving the game.

Blizzard had World of Warcraft shirts and T-shirts, Starcraft: Ghost T-shirts, and Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne T-shirts. Never figured out how people got these...

NCSoft gave away comics and T-shirts for "City of Heroes".

Wing mask and Keychain of helmet for the Korean MMORPG "MU".

Capcom gave away mini action figures of Maximo, with detachable sword and shield.

Eidos had these boxes of candy/mints laying around, showing the upcoming games.

And a bunch of companies gave away posters as well...

all the stuff mentioned above plus:
a rise of nations lunchbox signed by brian reynolds. got there early on friday before the line started to get it.
i also didnt get a halflife tshirt, line too long and I really didnt care that much.
what I thought was nifty:
a mini kirby on a moving star toy
a pack of many foam planes size of a deck of cards
I got a huge banner for a 16 player online fighting game
a coffee mug and tshirt for wish (MMORPG)

thats all i can think of
overall the swag this year was pretty bad. last year I made out like nobody's business.
I'm going next year (since its the 10th anniversary) but it will probably be my last year going

off -topic: did anybody go to the nvidia party? i did
thats pretty much the highlight for me. I never get to go to the kewl parties. I finally got to go to one
yay me!

My favorite swag this year:

-Tony Hawk: Underground(T.H.U.G.) t-shirt

-Gamespot Complete To Go Volume 1 DVD

-The Suffering poster autographed by Stan Winston

-Everquest: Online Adventures(yes Sony was actually giving this out)

-Soul Calibur 2 t-shirt(for entering the tournament)

-PSM pack(the June issue, poster, PSM badge with neckstrap)

-M.U.S.C.L.E. figure keychain(brings back memories)

I tried to get into the Sony party this year(i know one of the reps demoing the games), but no luck. However, Tommy Tallarico, game music composer and of G4tv invited my friends and I to a party for G.A.N.G.(Gaming Audio Network Guild). A nice little get together for his friends and business associates that turned into a jam session with him and a few musicians. We left a little early but was thankful for the invite.

Don't mean to be picky, but the Ultimate Muscle figurine is actually a cellphone ornament strap rather than a keychain. At least, that's how mine was.

Just remembered a few more...

After 4PM on Friday, both Action Replay and Brady were giving away what they had on display. I missed the Action Replay giveaway by 30 seconds. And did not bother with the strategy guide giveaway from Brady, as most could be had for a penny at BB.

There was also a cool Metal Gear Solid portfolio with bios of the 3 creative minds behind Twin Snakes: Ryuhei Kitamura(director of Versus), Hideo Kojima, and Silicon Knights. A Boktai sunlight sensitive promo card, a Snake Eater promo folder, and a paper model set that when completed forms The Metal Gear Rex from Twin Snakes.
