what are you watching?

Everything in bold that isn't a UPN sitcom.

But first ... some much needed rest over the summer.

Of the new shows, Coupling but I have little to no idea of the others - will wait for more press.

Of the old shows, Simpsons, Angel and Smallville.

Any idea what Comedy Central has lined up for the fall?

Monday--CSI Miami
Tuesday--24, Frasier
Wednesday--Smallville, Angel, Enterprise, might check out Jake 2.0 just for the producer whose involved (and I'm a sucker for superhero-type shows).
Thursday--Friends, CSI, Coupling (highly doubt they can match the hysterical original)
Friday--JAG, Boomtown (it'll be weird to see network shows on Friday, I usually just watched Farscape/Stargate)
Saturday--nada
Sunday--Simpsons, Alias

None of the other new shows sound very interesting and my list above is the smallest it's been in eons.

Wow, there are a lot of new shows on. I was starting to put a list together but I'm completely unfamiliar with a lot of these new ones, so its hard to say right now.

As of right now though, the only time slots I'm upset about are Wednesday 8pm and 9pm. Wed 8pm has FOUR conflicting shows for me: Enterprise, Smallville, Stan Hooper, Ed.

But then at 9pm Angel, Jake 2.0, and Bernie Mac all conflict (assuming Jake 2.0 is worth watching).

Fortunately it looks like those will be the only 2 conflicting timeslots for me.

Sunday
American Dreams
Simpsons
Alias
The Practice

Monday
Everwood
CSI: Miami

Tuesday
Gilmore Girls
24

Wednesday
Enterprise
Smallville
Angel
Karen Sisco

Thursday
Survivor
CSI
Without a Trace
Tru Calling
Coupling

Friday
Wanda at Large
Luis
Boston Public
Miss Match
Boomtown

Not sure if I'm sampling any other shows besides those I've bolded. I'm trying to get my TV watching down less than it was this season! I might keep an open mind on Fearless and The Handler, depending on how the early reviews come in.

Sunday - Alias, The Practice(guilty pleasure)
Monday - nothing
Tuesday - 24
Wednesday - Smallville, A Minute With Stan Hooper(Norm is back!), Angel
Thursday - The Jamie Kennedy Experiment, Tru Calling, Coupling(I'm morbidly curious about this one)
Friday - nothing
Saturday - nothing

I'm also curious about The Mayor based on its cast, but that's a midseason replacement on the WB.

Las Vegas with James Caan sounds pretty good...although I'm kind of sad the story has him playing a security person instead of the owner of the casino, which would seem like the ideal role for James.

Uh... just 24

question though - this COUPLING news! I must've missed the press release but I LOVE the original - I take it this is a remake?? :(

I'll give it a shot, but I just know it's gonna be crap.

SATURDAY
NOTHING

Final Tally w/ last years keepers
ABC---2 with 3 maybes...last year 5 w/3 canceled
CBS---4 with 6 maybes...last year 6 w/2 canceled
NBC---6 with 4 maybes...last year 8 w/2 canceled
FOX---6 with 4 maybes...last year 12 w/6 canceled
WB----4 with 2 maybes...last year 7 w/3 canceled
UPN---1 with 3 maybes...last year 4 w/3 canceled

ABC may break even, probably not since they like to cancel the shows I watch.
CBS has a chance to come out and beat last year.
NBC is more likely to do so.
Fox will only slide this year.
WB will remain close to last year but still behind
UPN will probably stay around 1 or maybe 2.

My guess for the rankings will be for me at the end of the season...
1.NBC
2.CBS
3.Fox
4.WB
5.ABC
6.UPN

Only 6 must see shows left:
Alias
Gilmore Girls
NYPD Blue
West Wing
Angel
ER

Maybes:
American Dreams
24 (this season seems like a chore to watch, and I don't feel up for "day 3" but my opinion may change in a few months)
Ed
Enterprise
Friends
Coupling (morbid curiosity, I must see how badly Hollywood ruins it)
Grounded for Life
Any non-reality new show that may catch my eye but I know about at the moment.

And of course, I'm sure I'll still be watching Trading Spaces on TLC on the Saturdays that I'm home (i.e. every Saturday).

Thurs: Friends, Scrubs, CSI, ER though I'd like to check out Coupling
Fri: Wanda, Luis, Boston Public (wife), Boomtown

I'm sure I'll latch on to more of the new shows, but nothing jumping out at me at the moment.

WED: Enterprise

Other than that nothing else on the Networks. I'll also watch Mail Call on the History Channel, The Sopranos on HBO, and South Park on Comedy Central.

Sunday: So disappointed that Gilmore Girls Beginings is gone. Maybe it'll be in EasyView???

Other than that, just Alias and the Simpsons

Monday: Everwood. Will find cable show to fill in the gaps.

Tuesday: Gilmore Girls, Less Than Perfect. Maybe Fearless, though I doubt it.

Wednesday: Probably nothing. Maybe if the Mole is a midseason replacement. Who knows?

Thursday: NBC's lineup. Why not?

Friday: Damn, there are a lot of things I usually watch that have been shuffled:

George Lopez
Life with Bonnie
Wanda at Large
Boston Public
Reba
Grounded for Life

I guess some choices will have to be made.

Nothing on Saturday, though. Back to cable.

Twilight Zone is canceled. Crossing Jordan will be back in midseason to give what's her name time to have her baby and recover.

there are scant few shows i look forward to anymore:

That 70s Show
Friends
Ed
CSI
ER (although this year i only caught 1/3 of it....slipping fast)
Six Feet Under
Sopranos

there's a few others i might watch once in a great while...Malcolm, Simpsons....that's about it.

In other words.....TV sucks these days. Get rid of non"reality" shows once and for all...i beg of you, please....

Why in the name of god did Fox cancel Fastlane and John Doe? Those were some of the best Friday shows in a long time.

Thanks for the update. Can't say I'm surprised about TZ. It did have some nice moments but was not nearly as good as the '80's version or the originals.
