Nintendo Announces GC-GBA Sims
By: D. F. Smith May 14, 2003 12:10 AM PDT
In its continuing quest for "connectivity" in all things, Nintendo today announced that it has enlisted Will Wright, creator of The Sims, to create two new games in his popular people-simulation franchise in conjunction with Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto. The two games, for Gamecube and Game Boy Advance, respectively, will combine a variety of link features to enrich the experience of playing both games.
Neither game has a confirmed release date as yet, although the portable version will arrive later. Connecting the two games will unlock new levels and other game features, and players can use the GBA version to transport sims from the Gamecube game into their friends' virtual neighborhoods. The GBA version is also to include competitive link-up games, as well as 10 other minigames.
It sounds gimmicky at first, but dedicated Sims-fiends may very well bite at the prospect of two complementary simulations. We'll see what becomes of this collaboration later in the year.

I think a lot of people will like the idea of being able to take their Sim on the road. I'm not personaly interested in that but I'm always looking for more Sims goodness. I wonder what Shiggy will be able to add to the game...
