The !!! EP (out in June, I believe) is amazing. And this is coming from someone who has never liked !!!. The first song is stunning, the second song blows. But the first track, "Me and Giuliani Down By the School Yard," is fantastic disco funk. And !!! and Out Hud are two separate entities that happen to share four members.

FCS North is an okay blend of R&B, post-rock, glitch-house and hip-hop. It has its moments. If Pinback weren't so emo it might sound like this.

The Nina Nastasia record I don't like so much, though Pikul loves it. I've only listened to it a couple of times, however. Darker than The Blackened Air, it sounds a lot like the Dirty Three at times (which, to me, isn't a good thing).

The Electric 6 record is great -- it shares a lot in common with Styx, Journey and a lot of the cock-rock bands, but with a heavy disco angle. "Danger! High Voltage" is great of course, but even better is "Gay Bar," which is basically the Cramps gone disco.
