It's a remake of Kinji Fukasaku's SAMURAI REINCARNATION with Sonny Chiba. The original came out in the U.S. on VHS in the '80s. It's a supernatural samurai movie with some really atmospheric cinematography. It's sort of an odd choice to remake, since the original is already pretty dazzling.

I really liked the original with the great Sonny Chiba, so I have to admit that I'm curious about seeing the remake. Oh well, gotta add it to the list.
