R2 Italian Malena Limited Edition
I am interested in buying this title from Italian retailers. Does anyone know the difference between the regular version( 2 disk, dts) from this limited edition? Could someone please tell me a retailer that still carries this title and is willing to ship to US cheap?
PS. I checked DVDplanet.it. This site still has it but does not ship to US. Also, casadeldisco still has it but I don't know how much it cost to ship to US.
Thanks

www.dvd.it has it at a good price (they do ship to the US),

same is the case with dvdland.it
http://www.dvdland.it/details.asp?pr...08&cat=4&path=
or you could get it shipped right here in the US
http://www.xploitedcinema.com/dvds/dvds.asp?title=547
HOWEVER keep in mind that the disc does not have English subs.
For graphic comparison look here:

Last but not least the Italian disc is the only one that's uncut....the picture quality however is not even close to the R1 disc. The cut material, as DVDBEAVER indicates, are mostly nude scenes between Monica and the kid......WHICH everyone would've loved to see.....but, o, well!

Thank you.
But I am looking for the Special Limited Edition, which contains the 2 DVDs and a CD. In fact I ordered the regular edition (2 DVD) from DVD.it, but was told that the limited edition has better packaging. This is the reason that I am looking for the Special Limited Edition.
Anyone has the Special Limited Edition??? or know where I can pick on up?

I think I mentioned it before in the forum about a Special Director Cut available on videos at Japan.I have not seen the dvd's yet.Maybe soon. But Japan censors the private parts so it might not be worth the purchase

o, in this case I am not sure I could help you....however, if it is only the packaging that you're after that is another issue.....I absolutely agree with the above statement, the Japanese version will probably be cut even more....I have no info though.

Italy released 2 discs special edition and 3 discs limited edition. 3 discs version is 2 discs plus soundtrack cd and better packaging. Japan version is uncut, but has no English subtitle either. I will pick Italian 2 discs version for better price.

Japan does not cut their version, they just blur out digitaaly the private parts! It's not fun watching a movie like that.If a movie native language is other than English then they would not include any other languages except Japanese! The DVD released in Japan are meant for Japan only so they do not need English subtitles for Italian or French movies.I however wish they could include it.

(For the record I have seen a Greek double disc version of Malena in a pawn shop in Chicago however I have no idea what the transfer looks like).

I just received the 2 disk Malena from dvd.it this monday...
Some how the shipping I paid was $10.XX for 3 DVDs (Malena, Legend of 1900, Tomb Raider), which is considerably less than what the site charges now for UPS express.
Since this is the only version I have, i can't comment on the video transfer. But I will be getting the R1 edition so I can understand what they are talking about. According to dvdcompare, the R1 version has better video transfer, albeit not complete. Because I do want the full version and the dts track, the Italian is the one to get.
And Monica Bellucci is yummy~~~
PS. Tomb Raider dts 96/24 track kicks arse, too bad it is in Italian.
