E3 TV Broadcast Question!?

How come they don't broadcast the show on cable or even on pay perview?

I read that this is the biggest show ever so I'm sure that many people want to see what's going on.

They could broadcast 1 hour of only Xbox and 1 hour of only PS2 and 1 hour of Gamecube and even 1 more hour of other things like booth babes and upcoming systems and did I say booth babes? ect...

It's not really a show... there might be coverage here and there. Surely you can find tons of stuff on the web for it.

what would you really shoot other than booth girls, really grainy video of tv screens playing games and thousands of sensory overloaded gamers hovering around?

E3 is supposed to be for people in the gaming industry only. Which is probably one reason why they would not do a thing like that. If they broadcast it on cable, then whatever they are trying to keep to the industry only, would no longer be possible . I agree with the show it on TV idea, it would be great if they could have interviews with developers and such then show on something like Techtv.

Not anymore. Only members of the industry are supposed to allowed in. But since attendance was light last year, and Comdex attendance was down, they've been a little slack on the requirements to get more people to show up. And anyway, any gamer worth his salt can figure out a way to get past the 'industry credentials' requirements. If you can figure out how to finish Zelda (NES), then you should be able to get into E3.

There's an E3 sort of thing for the general public sometime later in the year - I forget what it's called and where it is and when it is and everything else about it, but I know I posted info on it awhile back - or someone else did. I don't know.

If you have the channel, G4tv, they devote a week to E3 with all their shows covering it. The coverage last year was pretty good and the games weren't being taped off of screens, but actually video of the games themselves. They also interviewed reps and actual videogame designers, that were there. They even showed footage of the legendary entrance by Miyamoto from the back of the audience while he played Mario Sunshine on the Wavebird.

I do think E3 is still open to the public, but you have to pay an insane amount, like $300 for the exhibits, and $500 for the exhibits and the press conference. Or something like that.

Don't take the term "in the industry" so heavily. If you work in a Best Buy or a Toys R Us you are still eligible to go and for free I might add. Just not to press conferences.

Anyhow, give it a try next year. All you need is 2 proof's that you work "in the industry" like a W2 form, a paystub, or an insurance card. I'll see all those who got in this year in a few days. I can't wait.

This is not true. Your statement should be "Only members of the industry are supposed to allowed in FOR FREE". Anybody over 18 who wants to go to E3 can do so, as long as they're willing to pay $275-325 a piece for the ticket. E3 is only being tough on people who are trying to get in for free, and make you supply 2 IDs along with your application.

Well I know that, other than wrestling and spurts of Xbox Live, my TV is locked to G4 this week.

The show sucks but X-Play has been showing E3 stuff this week that they taped at the conference.

But you'll have to put up with comments like this:
"Whats different about the new castlevania? Its the first GOOD one since Symphony of the Night?

I had forgotten how bad this show is, Morgan sounds totally unconvincing no matter how hard she tries, and the stupid announcer doesn't help either.

Eitherway, they do show some booth babes and a lot of direct feed footage from games though, even though they are really quick snippets.

I don't know, all those vampire girls trying to bite or lick Morgan at the end made up for all the crap they did before.

For those of you with G4tv, when do they air the new shows? Do they have new shows once a week? Do they air them starting at 8 or 9pm? Thanks in advance.

G4TV might be the video game channel, but they really don't have much of a lineup other then random video game at random time..
