I'd like to open a free e-mail with Hotmail. Before I had an option to choose either a @hotmail.com or a @msn.com extension. Now it appears like I can only do the @hotmail.com extension. Is @msn.com dead? Or is that saved only for the MSN 8 (pay) users?

I didn't know that they ever opened the @msn.com domain for free use. It has been my understanding that the @msn domain is for pay customers only.

All last summer, I set up @msn.com e-mail accounts for people. When you went to hotmail and tried to create a new e-mail account, next to where you input your username was a selection box whether you wanted @msn.com or @hotmail.com. Now, it's a permanent @hotmail.com in bold.
