How much do you read a day?

Just curious if anyone tries to determine a set amount as to how much a day they read. I try to read at least one chapter every day. Otherwise the book will just sit around collecting dust. I need to keep on it or I will never finish it.

Half an hour to an hour. Sometimes significantly more, but rarely less than that.

If I don't get 30 - 45 minutes to read before I crash, I can't sleep. Otherwise it depends on what else is going on...on a rainy weekend day and a good book, I can go for hours, with a break every now and then, until the book is finished.

It can really suck getting into a good book and finishing in 2 hours before I have to get up in the morning.

Depends - I probably average 1 - 1 1/2 hours per day. However, it does depend on the weather and season. (i.e. I read a lot more in the winter).

This weekend, it is supposed to be raining, so I'll probably read a lot (and take breaks throughout the day and watch a DVD )

1/2 hour to an 1 1/2 hours a night.

Seems like as I get older, I fall asleep faster while reading.

I'm like the original poster, I read at least one chapter per day...more on the weekends. I prefer reading a good book over watching a good movie, but I also like to read without any distractions, and sometimes there are so many going on where I live that it's easier just to crank up the TV...you can't crank up the volume on a book to drown out noise!

An hour a day or less. I'm also a slow reader so I don't read a lot of chapter in one sitting.

Depends how long I'm in the bathroom. Always a chapter, sometimes 3.

You mean reading in every single day?

No. Depends on the book. Some of them are written so well, I won't be able to put it down until the last page.

If I can't find anything good to read, I will spend my day doing something else.

I don't have a set amount per day, although I usually like to read 100 pages or so. Depends a lot on the book.

I do have a goal of 2 books per week, which I try to make, although often don't.

Just depends on the day. I always read in bed before falling asleep. Sometimes I last for an hour, sometimes only ten minutes or so.

I'm a reviewer, so I read a lot, especially if I'm on deadline. No less than an hour or an hour and a half, often more.
I'll usually sit on the front porch with a cigar and a mug of coffee. Last night was two hours, almost on the dot. Good cigar, good coffee, good book.

Let's see, last night was a book called A Blade of Grass by Lewis DeSoto, a South African writer. Really very good. Coming from HarperCollins Canada in August. I don't know about US rights...
Before that was Eric Schlosser's Reefer Madness, his follow-up to Fast Food Nation. Not as good as FFN - a collection of exceptional magazine pieces yoked together by a bland and fruitless "look, there's a black market economy, and guess what, there's hypocriscy in government too!" theme. The book fails to cohere, but the essays are stunning.
The cigar, for the record, was a Cuban Montecristo #2.

I'm not all that consistant, though I try to read a 1/2 hour or so per day at lunch time unless I have major errands to take care of. I typically manage between 1-5 books per week. (I'm a very fast reader....)

Aside from work-related reading, I was reading about an hour M-F, and 2 hours Sat-Sun. Now that my wife and I taking a Japanese language course, I get no more than 30 minutes of other pleasure reading done a day.

I've set a new goal of reading a minimun of 50 pages per day. Usually works out to about an hour at a minimum.
