Tartan's R2 PAL of TROUBLE EVERY DAY

I just received my copy of the Tartan R2 PAL DVD of TROUBLE EVERY DAY from Bensons world, and I'm happy to say that it has a very very nice anamorphic transfer.

With many of the nightime or darker scenes reminiscent of ELEMENT OF CRIME or LOST HIGHWAY, with blacks, dark browns, burnt orange, etc., I am happy to report that on my Cyberhome 500 there was no discernible artifacting or blurring of objects in the darker scenes. The DVD also a nice 5.1 audio (2.0 too).

The only downside is that the promised Claire Denis commentary track is nowhere to be found on the disk, which is a little disappointing since Bensonsworld (see link below) adveritsed it as an extra on the DVD.

In English & French w/optional English subs also.

Anyone else picked up a copy?

Is it just Bensonsworld that advertised the commentary or is it listed on the disc also?

No Commentary? I think it is also listed on the box, not 100% sure though, I was gonna pick this up. Is the film good? Read a bit about it but not a lot.

Tartan, apparently, intended that a commentary track not be included.

Though Bensonsworld advertises the disc as having a commentary track, a thorough look at the back of the Tartan keepcase reveals that one is not included on the DVD.

As an aside, my DVD was shipped from Belgium (?), not England, even though I bought it from Bensonsworld.

cheers, Tony Block

The french disc---which I own---has the commentary with Denis and her cinematographer, maybe Benson's got some info confused...(there's no subs, so don't bother)...I like the film myself, being a big fan of Gallo and Denis...Minimal dialogue, some great imagery and atmostphere...I like it...Very polarizing film.

I just today received the Tartan Persona from Bensonsworld, and it was shipped from Belgium. I don't remember any of my other Bensons shipping from there.

Wendersfan:

I am sorry to bother you but how did your discs arrive (how long did it take how were they packaged)?

I placed an order for Alice Et Martin (J.Binoche) and Comedie De L`Innocence (I.Huppert) and I am a bit worried since last time they put my discs in a simple paper bag (really weird).

Will you please let me know how was your order when it reached you?
Thank's

My order for TROUBLE EVERY DAY came from Belgium, in a brown corragated cardboard box that fit snuggly overver the keepcase, and the disc had not come unattached, it was fine.

It took about two weeks total for the for the disc to arrive at my house (about four days for the order to be filled and about ten days in the mail).

I don't remember exactly how long it took for me to get my order. It was between a week and two weeks. The DVD was wrapped in a cardboard mailer, very similar to all the others I've received. Certainly nothing special about it. I think because everything about the order (except that it came from Belgium) was so unremarkable I can't remember anything specific.
