What happened to Toad and Sabertooth?
Sorry if this may have already been discussed but what exactly happened to Toad and Sabertooth? Did they die at the end of X1 or were they just not interesting enough to be in X2?

I think the general consensus is that Toad is dead. I believe Sabretooth is just sitting out this film since the film was already crowded enough. Tyler Mane, who plays him, has stated he will be back in future sequels.

I think the filmmakers decided not to put them in it. Toad might have died in the first one, but I would be surprised if we don't see Sabretooth return. I am pretty certain the actor who played Sabretooth, Tyler Mane (?), is signed up for more sequels. And since the films revolve around Wolverine (more or less), Sabretooth is a critical part of the story.

I hope Sabretooth returns with an expanded role. The actor playing him was well cast IMHO.

While I wouldn't put any real faith in it as canon, there was an X2 prequel comic that followed Wolverine on his journey to the dam area. In it he had another encounter with Sabertooth.
However, they did the same for the first X-movie and it didn't have any connections whatsoever.

I'd think Toad was dropped for the reason that...well...he wasn't that interesting. I don't think he was too popular so I can't imagine fans were calling for his return, and with all the new characters it's easy enough to forget him, a rather peripheral character.

This is another reason why I would like to see his role expanded.

Sabertooth hands Magneto Wolverine's dog-tags
MAGNETO: Where is the Mutant now?
SABERTOOTH: With them.

I liked Toad cause Ray Park was the ****. He did a good job and I wish he had more roles
Im DAMN pissed that Sabertooth wasnt in X2, but hopefully he'll be back. I think he was OK in the movie with his soft, deep voice, cause it gave it a differnt "feel" but I liked how he was out spoken and loud in the cartoon.
And I thought that he and Wolverine were just partners, in some army or something. I dont know, Im going by what i saw in cartoons, i never read the comic.

Well Sabertooth most definitely survived. Part of his mutation is a healing factor that's nearly as good as Wolverine's. The guy is nearly impossible to kill. In fact at one point in the comics Wolverine popped a claw from under his chin out the top of his head, and the guy is still tickin.
Toad might be dead, it's hard to say. In the comic he didn't have any abilities that would have let him survive, but then in the comics he was just a dumb beat up toy too. He was considerably more dangerous in the movie. I like Ray Park though, and wouldn't mind seeing him come back.

I doubt either of them are dead... they just had a bunch of other mutants to include and didn't feel the need to use either of them again. Since they seem to be taking mutants that are crappy in the comics (Toad, Pyro), whose with me for BLOB in X3! Come on! Nothing beats the Blob!
