I buy a R2 DVD from the UK it costs plenty, I buy a R4 DVD from AU and it costs less. Why is England AKA United Kingdom discs more money?
P.S. DVD I watched last night R4 Conan The Barbarian in OAR 2.35:1 and sound 5.1 Dolby Digital, in fact there was more movie time and plot than a USA R1. I was suckered into buying 1 of the R1 Digital Monaural, I sold that one. Nothing wrong with DVDs from our neighbors accross the northern or southern ponds (oceans).

- Market forces: they charge what they can get.
- From what I can tell Oz & UK DVDs are not always "the same".

What does television type have to do with price?
Close Encounters Of The Third Kind: The Collector's Edition and The Godfather Trilogy are actually Cheaper in r2 PAL.

The UK has VAT of 17.5% (removed by Amazon UK) and plenty of major distributor specials (often 50%-60% off). Hence they are much more competitively priced after tax.
Australia has GST of 10% and weaker distributor specials (usually 30%-40% off). Also, the Pacific Peso (aka Aussie dollar) has been significantly undervalued, but is now recovering, closing the price differential. Anyway, it pays to shop around.
