HDTV RPTV - 2002 or 2003 models?
Hey guys - I am set to buy a new big screen in early June - I have settled on the Sony KP46" as it has the clarity, DVI/HDCP and good reviews. Now some new models are commin out and I am tempted to try them. The new Toshibas run a little bigger at 51" and have DVI/HDCP - down side is limited info on how good they are since not commin out until late May.
So what is the opinions out there - known quantity or roll the dice (assuming it looks as good as the Sony when I see it)

Sorry I can't give you any hard facts to help your decision but in most forums I've read I get the impression that Toshiba is thought to be a better choice than Sony when discussing HD RPTVs so I would have no reason to think the 2003 Tosh would be any different. In fact most feel that Sony isn't even in the top five. Whenever I read recommendations for a HD RPTV the same names always come up; Pioneer, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Panasonic and Hitachi. My personal opinion is that yes sony makes a quality tube TV but the picture it produces is over processed and doesn't give a true quality picture. This over processing can help when you're viewing an analog source but for a digital signal like DVD or HD it looks unnatural to me. I've never compared the RPTV offerings so that might be a different story.
