Your favorite death scenes!! (may contain SPOILERS heh)

Here are a few of my favorites:

-Jimmy Caan in "The Godfather". A classic.

-Sean Connery in "The Untouchables". The man still crawled in his appartment leaving a trail of blood after getting 100 bullets in him.

-Kevin Spacey in "L.A. Confidential". After he says "Rollo Tomassi" you can literally SEE the life go out from his eyes. Great acting.

-I remember some guy in a "Friday The 13TH" movie getting impaled in the eye with a party favor (sorry I'm not sure of the name, it's one of those things that you blow into at birthdays and it makes a wacky noise you know? Ok no sex jokes implied here ) and yes it did make that wacky noise as it plunged in the eye. Stupid, but funny!

-Willem Dafoe in "Platoon". The slow motion and his arms stretched towards the sky...

Ok enough about what I think , what are yours?

There's so many in the Friday the 13th series, but one that stands out is Rob in The Final Chapter: "He's killing me! He's killing me!"
Also the death of "Dead****" was awesome: corkscrew to the hand, machete to the face.

I enjoyed the pseudo-death scene in the beginning of Final Destination

Definately the kid coming out of the dentist's office in Final Destination 2. It was only a movie, yet it was still disturbing to see.

Well, I'd say we're bound to have more than a few films spoiled in this thread.

Two older Aussie films come to mind.

Gallipoli, the ending.
Breaker Morant. "Shoot straight you bastards!"

Guys, look! We should agree on some ground rules. Nobody has seen every movie out there so we should use spoiler tags, like this:

[title of movie here]
Spoiler:

Spoiler:
Danny Witter's (Collin Farrel) death in Minority Report. It's almost the same as L.A. Confidential when Jack Vincent was shot by Dudley. I got the same reaction the first time I watched these two movies.

This would be a Minority Report spoiler.

Best to leave the film's title outside of the spoiler tags, yes?

Best Death Ever (At least the funniest I feel)

Marked For Death

Screwface's battle with Segal ends with ...

Spoiler:
- Screwface's eyes being gouged out

- Segal breaking his back

- Segal throwing him down an empty elevator shaft where he gets impaled at the bottom

This all happens in a span of about 30 secconds! Classic!

McCabe & Mrs. Miller
Spoiler:
McCabe's death in the end is heartbreaking. The intercutting between him and Mrs. Miller smoking opium, oblivious to what's happening to McCabe, lends the scene a feeling of sadness that perfectly encapsulates the movie's theme of alike people drifting apart.

Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid
Spoiler:
As Slim Pickens' character staggers forward, bleeding from a fatal gunshot wound, Mr. Dylan sings "Mama take this badge off of me, I can't use it anymore..." to the tune of a mournful guitar. Unforgettable to those who have seen it, the scene is proof that Sam Peckinpah did indeed have a soul, and that it reached deep.

Vizzini: You only think I guessed wrong - that's what's so funny! I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha-ha, you fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is "Never get involved in a land war in Asia", but only slightly less well known is this: "Never go in against a Sicilian, when *death* is on the line!". Hahahahahah!

Bateman: You like Huey Lewis and the News?

Well executed scene, but in the context of the movie it was way too predictable, imo.

Scanners. It would suck to have my head blow up like that. Especially in front of all those people. I guess i'm shy.
