TV Idols who cannot make it in Film
The King (drum-roll, please)
JASON PRIESTLY
His lead in the successful TV series Beverly Hills: 90210 made him a bona fide teen idol, but his efforts in film were not as ambitious. Such flops include Calendar Girl, Love and Death on Long Island and Cold-Blooded.

David Caruso, an idol?
And I did like Kiss of Death with Nicolas Cage in 1995. It tanked, so I suppose Caruso qualifies in this thread.

Kiefer doesn't belong on that list. He's a film star that went to tTV. All these movies may not have great performances but they were succssesful. Young Guns 1 &2, Lost Boys, A few good men, and Flatliners

How about Kiefer Sutherland, other than Phone Booth and Freeway, all of his other performances suck.

Perhaps a better question would be... who HAS made it? Especially if a tv show is on for a long time, an actor runs the risk of being typecast in that one role.
I don't know if you can consider Priestley the biggest bust, considering that none of his other costars really went on to do anything either...
A lot of SNL alums, especially from early on, made it big. Jim Carrey from ILC. Tom Hanks, Robin Williams, George Clooney...

The two Corey's (Feldman & Haim) were huge in the 80's until everything went downhill.

Those equal hits? I guess if it garners a sequel, eh?
Only Topher made a ton of money, but his role was so small

I would say Luke Perry of 90210 fame
He was lead in 8 Seconds and that's about it.
Kirk Cameron.
I don't think he made many movies besides those Left Behind Christian movies.
