ISO Progressive multi-format player w/out chroma bug

Hey everyone... I know about the search feature, but any search string on any of these keywords brings back a ton of results... so... can anyone point me in the direction of a progressive multiformat player (DVD, DVD-A, SACD, CD, CD-R, VCD) that doesn't have the chroma bug and is somewhat reasonably priced. A good friend of my parents is looking for something to get me for college graduation... and this is about all I can think of. Thanks in advance.

If you drop the SACD requirement, one of the following Panasonic models will fit the bill: RP82, CP72, XP50.

They will play all the formats you listed, but no SACD, and do not have the chroma bug.

If you want all those formats (especially DVD Audio & SACD) you're talking about one of the new 'universal players' out there. There's only a handful to choose from and they go for a premium. That will change in the next year, but for now you've got limited choices.

The 2300 is in very short supply and I have not been able to get a good reason as to why. The Denon 2900 is also due in May and is very similar to the Yamaha.
