NOOO!! Stupid blocked webpages from work.
This had better be 2D and not full of stupid people talking to each other. You hear that Sony? You want me to buy a PS2? Get Konami to do this right!!

It does indeed look like DMC, which is a bad thing as I hated that game.
I'll wait until there's more info before writing it off, but my interest just dropped a whole lot.
At least there's the GBA Castlevania series.

The fact that the man himself is working on this game makes me interested. I won't write off a game just because it wasn't what I hopped it would be.

Hmmm, I dunno. The games on the 64 were crap, but this game is being brought to us by the team who made 'Symphony' so Im hopeful this will turn out great, but if it doesnt then you can say "I told you so" But if it like Devil May Cry then Im there, because I liked that game.

Like I said, I'm not writing it off yet, but my interest level dropped since I was hoping for a psuedo-3D game.
I'm not convinced Castlevania can be done right in 3D (most old series haven't been, only Zelda and Metroid IMO) but I'll give them the chance to prove me wrong.

NO!!!! Why didn't they learn from the N64's failures that Castlevania NEEDS to be in 2d.
If you ask me.. it looks worse then devil may cry. It looks like sloppy blocking. Not to mention the main reason why I dislike 3d castlevania.. if you are going to throw dozens of baddies up against you then you should at the very least be able to handle them from only 2 sides or make a 3d defense were you would be able to slash from all angles. you will be surrounded by higher level beast and making it harder and harder to get through.
simple fact, the 2d art has a classic feel to it. Look at SoTN, it had the classic feel, yet was so much more advance then any in the series before.

I think basing your judgement on two screenshots (one that was blown up to full page size) is a bit ... premature.
Or immature (see above).

"its gonna suck!"
or
"Konami can eat my ass"
Doesnt make developers take big risks with franchises it only makes them stick to a mundane formula that will get old, and jade a lot of gamers. Granted your all entitled to your opinions but dont let how you feel about two lousy screen shots determine your judgement for a game YOU HAVENT PLAYED YET.

I agree. The game isnt even out yet, and the fact that it has the team that made one of the best Castlevania games ever behind it only makes me want to play it more. The DCast Castlevania got scrapped and never released, and that was supposed to be in 3D as well. Would it have done well? We dont know. But with comments like..

Agreed, but "Well.. Koanmi can eat my ass, and the contents of said ass." made me laugh out loud.

It's far too early to tell whether this game will be good or not from merely 2 screenshots. There's nothing about gameplay or content you can tell from these. I imagine that the final versions graphics will also be refined when the final version hits stores.
In this day and age I don't think we are going to see very many 2D games any more.

I can barely make out what the screens look like and have no idea what the game plays like or what the story is...... but I simply hate it!!! C'mon guys, at least wait for some better screenshots or game info. For all we know it could be a pseudo-3D like Contra.

I'm currently enjoying Circle of the Moon on my GBA, and they can keep cranking the 2Ds for my money.

This really cracks me up:
A title has not yet been decided for the PS2 Castlevania. "We're working on choosing a subtitle" Igarashi said, "but we're running out of ideas for musical references."
