Socom Navy Seals
I plan to rent this game and play just the single player. (Have no intention to play multi-player) Question is do I need a headset to play it?

no you dont need the headset but if you playing online you better use the headset. its cool single payer cause you can give commands and stuff but multiplayer is even cooler.

The headset actually comes in handy for single player too. You can give your teammates orders via the headset ("Boomer, frag door").
Without the headset, I think you hit a button and navigate through various menus to issue commands.
