Need reviews for ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS

Anyone come across a review of this disc or perhaps even own it?
What's the picture and sound like? Years back I owned the import LD in widescreen and it was awful! Anyone?

I just received my copy yesterday, but haven't had a chance to view it yet.

Well, I watched this first so I could reply to you. I thought the sound and picture were great. The colors were vivid and crisp. There are a couple of scenes that are very dark, but they are not for an extended period of time.

I just watched mine, too, and agree it's a nice transfer. Sometimes in the night scenes when there is a bright, colored light, things can go a bit soft, but it's not too noticeable. Overall, the film has finally gotten the treatment its deserved.

Finally got around to watching my copy (bought it the day it came out). Was very pleased with the picture and sound. Although surprised the sound didn't include 5.1

Thanks for the input. I recently received my copy in the mail and
was extremely pleased with the disc's overall quality. Sure a 5.1 mix would have been sweet, but at least this film has finally found its way to DVD.
