Is About A Boy being planned to be a SE?

Does anyone know if About A Boy is planned to be a special edition? I think it just cries out for one.

I think the edition out now is far more special than some "Special" Editions...

people just love their special editions. the dvd could have dropped some of the features, called itself a special edition and no one would ask for more. please people.

This is a charming little film that makes you feel good everytime you watch it..

I generally don't like Hugh Grant his stuttering idiot routine usually gets on my nerves but he's really good in this film..He actually talks like a normal person..in complete sentences

I think it's pretty decent as it is, a good commentary -- it wasn't a "HUGE" box office hit so I don't imagine they'll do a new SE, although you never know these days...

Well let see what the current DVD has....

- 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
- English Dolby Digital 5.1
- Audio Commentary
- Deleted Scenes (15 mins)
- Making-of (15 mins)
- Interview with Badly Drawn Boy (20 mins)
- Two Badly Drawn Boy music videos (10 mins)
- Trailers (2 mins)
- "English to English" dictionary (3 mins)
- "Santa's Super Sleigh" song and lyrics (3 mins)

That's over an hour of bonus video material along with a 100 minute plus commentary. What else could you do for About a Boy?

What the HELL people?

That current disc is all done out in special.

A commentary, deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes making of, interviews, music videos, trailers, the SSS song, and the text features aren't special enough?

You're going to make the "About a Boy" DVD cry, my main man.

Dang people don't appreciate nuthin...

If this isn't my favorite movie of all time, it certainly can see the front of the line. As for a SE, I'd have to agree with those who feel that the current is pretty good as it is. I LOVE this movie, and I certainly would never have guessed it would become so special to me before I saw it for the first time...

I really LOVE this movie!

Just get your label maker, print out the words "Special Edition", and stick it on the cover. There ya go.

Is the Badly Drawn Boy interview on the US release or is it only inlcluded in the R2 and R4 DVDs?

It's on the US release.

I think About A Boy has the all time worst cover art. Yes, even Chairman of the Board has better cover art.

Getting this cover should be required!

God, that one's even more hideous than the original DVD cover.

Unless you're of the type that finds Grant "dreamy" I guess.

That's the original theatrical poster which is much better than a cover that is half way covered up with quotes by movie critics.

Will: The thing is, a person's life is like a TV show. I was the star of The Will Show. And The Will Show wasn't an ensemble drama. Guests came and went, but I was the regular. It came down to me and me alone. If Marcus' mum couldn't manage her own show, if her ratings were falling, it was sad, but that was her problem. Ultimately, the whole single mum plotline was a bit complicated for me.
