So I could get: Wario Land 4 ($20) + Pokemon Sapphire ($35) + Super Smash Bros Melee ($30) for $85; plus get a $40 voucher to use on something like the GC/GBA player or another game...

That is really tempting...

I started this thread about an EBGames.com online rebate promo on Gamecube and GBA games (buy 1 get $5 GC, buy 2 get $20 GC, buy 3 get $40), with a catch being the games had to be selected from a limited list of GC/GBA games that were mostly 29.99 and up (few 19.99). Well, I was in a retail EBGames store today, and the B&Ms are running the same promo, EXCEPT (!) you can buy ANY 1, 2 or 3 GC/GBA games 19.99 and up to qualify for the rebate (mail-in form for $40 voucher good on future purchase at EBGames B&M). The rebate forms are in-store at the register/counter (valid for purchases 4/6/03 -5/30/03). I verified the terms with the clerk, different from the web site promo. I got Backyard Football, Sum of all Fears and Taz, all for GC, 19.99 each. I'll be getting a $40 voucher for future purchase to go with the others I've stashed away. Anyway, this now seems like an even more hottish deal for you Gamecube/GBA owners.

Yes, I saw the exact same voucher offer at a mall EB when I picked up a copy of Robotech CE on Tuesday. I was somewhat skeptical and wanted to have the terms verified before I do it. I am glad that you doubled checked and made sure the offer is good with ANY GC/GBA games over $19.99.

The B&M rebate forms are in blue, and is only good for new games all purchased on the same receipt. The offer expires 5/30/03.

I see that EBGames.com now has Capcom vs. SNK 2: EO marked down to 19.99. Their B&M stores usually have the same prices in the system even if the game is marked differently on the shelf, so looks like this could be a good pick for the in-store rebate deal.

Is Advance Wars still on the website? I can't seem to find it...

It was the last time I looked, oh and I did the deal @ a b&M. Took me a while to find an eB that has all 3.

Godzilla; Monsters, Inc.; Crash Bandicoot; Dragon's Lair 3D; Rocky; Swingerz Golf; NHL 2003; Tiger Woods 2003; Dakar 2; and Piglet's Big Game, all for Gamecube, are now 19.99 each at EBGames.com, usually same prices B&M for those interested in the 'buy-3-19.99-and-up-get-$40-GC' B&M deal (online rebate deal over, but B&M deal good for purchases through 5/30/03).

Edit: Also saw that Driven; NFL 2K3; BMX XXX; and WTA Tour Tennis, all for Gamecube, are 9.99 each.

Great googly moogly: Timesplitters 2 is now $19.99 at EBGames. Good grief, you could get Timesplitters, Godzilla and Rocky for $60 total and get a $40 voucher back. Yikes.

For anyone thinking of doing the B&M rebate deal, it might be worth waiting until closer to the end of the rebate eligibility period (5/30/03) to see what else EB might drop the price on.

One caveat, though: although it seems like these price drops are usually permanent, I have seen them drop the price of a game for a couple of weeks and then hike it back up. Example: Baldur's Gate recently dropped from $29.99 to $19.99 for a few weeks, then went back to its current price of $29.99. (Likewise, they could drop the price on something from $19.99 to $14.99 or $9.99, making it ineligible for the rebate deal)

Nevertheless, with numerous decent games at $19.99, seems like it might be worth waiting a week or 2, as odds are you'll have no problem finding 3 games you want to use in the deal.

I'm definitely using that strategy, since I'm hoping to get the $25 voucher back from the last rebate offer to use on this purchase.

3 1/2 more weeks to jump on this deal...

I picked up Metroid Fusion, Golden Sun and Advance Wars for about $70. Sweet deal, thanks for the heads up!

Does anyone know if this deal will work if you buy the games through ebgames.com, but use the rebate form from in-store?

I believe the online offer expired. So if you want to get the $40 voucher you'll have by from B&M EB. Since you'll need an actual receipt, I don't think you can buy those games online.

I'm looking at Warioware, Metroid Fusion, and Sega Arcade Gallery for $80-$40. Sweeeet!

a couple questions...

1. How long does it take to get the voucher?

2. Can you buy preowned games or preorder games to use with this deal?

It's been my experience that EB is ridiculously slow in sending out vouchers, but they've always come eventually, taking anywhere from 4-12 weeks to show up.

It's my understanding that the games must be new; I'm not sure about pre-orders, seems like they might be okay as by definition they're new games. Check with a store to be sure.

crud, 4-12 weeks? argh.... I was hoping to preorder mega man battle network 3 and use the voucher to get a GBA SP.

Dah-Dee

Yeah, EB is slow. I'm still not sure about pre-orders; I figure even if they're eligible you might have to also pre-pay in full for it to count toward the voucher.

My last 3 rebates took more like 12-16 weeks to show up.

Anybody get their rebate voucher yet? I called today to check on the status of mine, and they couldn't find it in the system. Grrrrr. Guess I'll have to check my home PC for scans of the documents, fax them to those jokers. GRRRR!

No, but these guys take at least 10 weeks before they send out the voucher.

Anyone get their voucher yet? I did the $40 B&M voucher deal (as opposed to the online code), but I haven't received it yet.

Yep, received mine about a month ago. EB is pretty unpredictable with their rebates though, and they recently changed the format of them. They have your name printed on them now. I did this rebate in early April and received the rebate a little over a month ago. I also did the Enter the Matrix rebate in May and got that rebate sometime in July. Go figure. Check out their website and give them a call to see what's up.

I send in for the $40 voucher deal on the last day of the offer, and got it in the mail by the end of August. You should call them if you still haven't gotten it.

Thanks for the replies. Turns out it had been sent to my other P.O. box, which I don't check very frequently.
