Buffy 4/15/03 the Return of (most) our favorite character

from tvguide.com

Dirty Girls
60 min.
Renegade slayer Faith (Eliza Dushku) returns to Sunnydale just in time to help Buffy and her gang fight a nefarious new foe

Here is the plot

The unusually violent episode opens as a girl flees a group of zombies and takes refuge with a cleric named Caleb (Nathan Fillion). However, it quickly becomes clear that Caleb is not on God's side, but the First's. He asks her to deliver a threatening message to the “original, accept-no-substitutes Slayer”...before stabbing the girl. As the Scoobies respond by preparing for battle, Buffy copes with the return of Faith, who, much to Buffy's chagrin, bonds with Spike. Meanwhile, in a lighter vein, Xander fantasizes about wild times with potential slayers.

Am looking forward to this episode

Wow, she has a lot of people on her side now. That scence where she was telling everyone about Caleb, there had to be about 30 people in her living room. It's been three weeks of no new episodes, and I almost wish I would have held out for another month so I could watch these final five back to back, but I don't think I have enough willpower to not watch a new episode as soon as I get it.

Edit - Oh yeah, favorite line - Faith telling Buffy "Boy, I didn't know you were that cool" after Xander's little speech

Spoiler:
I love Caleb's homespun brand of evil. It's great to see him again after Firefly, and I already think he's one of the coolest Buffy villains yet.

Buffy wasn't a very good general tonight, was she?

Spoiler:
Nope, she got her @$$ kicked, got a potential killed, another injured, and the Xander's injury was just disturbing

That was definitely the point. Buffy makes a decision, everyone around her questions it, but they do it anyway because she's the general. And then it turns out to be a bad one.

So now you have lowered troop morale, and a discouraged Buffy who's doubting her decisions. Along with all the injuries...

I'm glad Buffy got knocked back a peg..she's really beginning to annoy me..and so are the SPEECHES. I don't care WHO'S givin' em...ENOUGH.

I liked Andrew's cry of "Xanderrrrrrrrrr" when one of the slayerettes said "..if Matthew Broderick can beat Godzilla.." and then Xander had to explain the difference between the US/Jap Godzilla [Or is that Godzilli? ]..

Needless to say, the battle was very disturbing. And what Caleb did to Xander seemed a lil bit excessive..but i'll see if my opinion changes after I watch it when it's broadcast tonite..

Oh, and I can't forget...the mandatory Faith

I don't think I once heard Faith say that she was "5X5"

I never did quite figure out what that meant anyways

Wow, stuff finally starting to happen!

The weekly "Andrew " Spock vs. Faith---classic!!

Looks like we need some Dark Willow action to take care of The First's new henchman.

What alien space virus has invaded Serenity and sent it's crew to wreak havoc in the Buffy-verse??

What did Caleb mean when he said to Xander "You're the one that sees everything." ?
And that was just gross. It made my eyes start twitching.

Poor poor Xander that had to be painful. What do you all think of the Caleb character? I like his ex-Southern preacher persona. I wonder exactly what he is.

Best episode of the season IMO. While only one episode is under his belt, I see Caleb being a very memorable Buffy villain in his short run.

Did anyone else think that the scene with Spike and Faith in the basement was really exceptional? James Marsters and Eliza Dushku seemed to have more chemistry in that one scene than I have felt all season with SMG.

While it was bad what happened to Xander
Spoiler:
if they ever bring him back for a spin off in the future, it will really lend some bad a$$ potential to his character by having a patch over one eye.

I also marked out after Andrew's little Godzilla rant, he speaks for every geekboy in America when it comes to that mockery!

Fantastic. "Best episode of the season" gets pre-empted so I can see the Red Sox. They won, but still.

Anyone else live in the Boston area and get UPN 38? Did they say if / when they'll get around to showing this?

Y'know. Just wondering if Caleb is Joss Whedon's homage to Robert Mitchum's character in Night of the Hunter.
Just wondering.

Pretty darn good episode. Faith lookes like she has put on a couple pounds. You can see it in the chin.

Caleb is one crazy mofo. He makes a great villian.

This might be a rumor but:
Spoiler:
I distinctly remember reading something regarding Xander developing some sort of "power" due to the little eyeball squish. So Caleb's words may have more of a literal meaning.

After all the filler material this season, it's good to finally see a fanf**kingtastic episode. Glad to see Xander getting so much screen time for a change.

Hearing Andrew explaining Faith to the potentials and the fight with the "Vulcanist".

Xander's wet dream

Surprised there was no interaction between Xander and Faith.

BTW, I just now realized there was no Anya in this ep.

upn never repeats shows, check tvguide.com and look either in the wee hours in the morning or just type "dirty girls" or "buffy" and you should be able to find what you are looking for.

I agree this was the best ep of the season so far.

Xander's dream and Faith vs the Vulcan were great as was the battle at the end.

Loved the tear running down Andrew's face after Xander's speech
