Purposed e3 get together 2003
I know a lot of peeps(including myself) are going to e3 or will be in the LA area. We tried last year, but no go.
I propose a get together with a purpose:
to see Matrix Reloaded
it opens that thursday night, right in the middle of e3 (5/15/03)
I will be in town till Friday at 8pm (flight back to the east leaves at 9)
I don't know much about the LA area but i assume there has gotta be a bada$$ theatre around there somewhere. (like the uptown for all you DC creatures)
I say we group, we go, we see coolest movie of summer
thoughts?
comments?
suggestions?

yes I'm going to e3. e3 is not a 24 hour event so at night either thrusday or Friday we should get together. Usually around this time plans are made to try to have a meet, they never seem to go thru. So I was proposing a meet with a bonus: bond with fellow DVDtalkers and see a kicka$$ movie

I'm going to E3 on Friday but am probably going to be in LA Thursday night. I'd love to see "Matrix". Tickets may need to be purchased in advance though because thousands of geeks (myself included) descending on Los Angeles are all probably going to want to see it. Mann Chinese Theater in Hollywood is always a winner but there may be a line forming ala Star Wars and LOTR.

yes. tickets will need to be purchased in advanced for sure. So hashing out details now is ideal. The Mann theater might be too famous, its guranteed that there will be a line.

I'm gonna be at E3, but I'm seeing Matrix with some other people on Friday or Saturday. I don't know where yet, but we're gonna try to hit it as early as possible so we can go out 'clubbin'.

12 hours of walking around in 100k plus crowds and carrying heavy free material, you guys are brave to plan activities afterwards, hehe.
Have fun!
Besides all great console stuff tell me about everything you can about big 3 fantasy online rpgs coming, Horizons(Do character models look interesting as well as fantasy world?), FF11(Does have enough content? is PC version coming with PS2, etc), and possibly EQ2 if its far enough along(There is no such thing as too much information so instead of waiting in long lines to get your picture taken with booth babies I suggest this instead, lol). I think we have few more E3 before we see the meat and bones of WOW otherwise I mention that too. SWG is just about out and most have good idea what that be about anyhow. Hopefully there is big Tales Series presence there, cube, ps2, gba, etc.

The Bridge Cinema De Lux is nice, they have a premium theatre with leather seats. It's a few minutes north of LAX and across the street from my job. I'll be at E3 also so a meet up there would be cool.

Actually there those questionable "homeless" employees that work around convention center in downtown LA asking for "just a dime" year round so they can afford to go E3. haha
