hmm. just read reviews about it being chopped to 4:3 is this worth skipping it for a n00b to the show?

I loved it. I didn't watch it during its first run but I did manage to catch a few episodes on TNN. I ended up breezing through the set in about 4 days.

Wiccan, I did the CSI review. Don't let your love of widescreen make you miss out on an excellent TV show.

Ya, I agree.... this is one of the best shows on TV... actually, outside of the History Channel, I dont think I tune anything else in....
Good thing I have soo many movies, justifies the big screen.

The P&S release did not bother me, particularly since I have a standard tv. 4:3 is the OAR I watched it in the first place. The video and sound are amazing. I've watched about 1/2 the set so far.

Being 4:3 does not mean it is P&S. I have never seen any Panning or Scanning in the show.
4:3 gets a bad rap sometimes by "widesceen joe-six pack types".
