Ever thought of putting little numbers on your DVDs to keep an accurate inventory?
I've been debating putting little sticky numbers on my DVDs to keep an accurate inventory. Anyone already do this?

But how would you initially number the discs you have? Once you have your discs numbered, each new number would be in order of purchase. Then you would need a separate list to cross-match numbers to titles so you can find the title you're looking for. But if you number 'em alphabetically, you'd have to keep changing numbers everytime you buy a new disc... and... and....

I thought of it, but never did it. I doubt I will. I have a little under 200 so if I wanted to start this would be a good time, but I can keep track jsut fine without numbers.

Take a piece of paper.
Write down the number of DVDs you own.
When you buy a new DVD, cross out the number on the piece of paper, and write down a new number that is one higher than the number you crossed out.
Repeat with each new purchase.

You know those static cling decals? I once had the brilliant thought of printing up a ton of "The Donnacha Collection" ones that I could stick across the front of the DVD box, nice along the top.
I gave up when I realized how silly it was, that I should just be content with owning the DVD...
