Man this movie sounds awesome. Read more about it in the new Fangoria. It's so rare that mainstream, American movies have new ideas nowadays. It's a horror movie basically about werewolves vs. vampires. The vampires want to cross-breed w/ the werewolves(or the other way around?) to create the perfect species. It stars Kate Beckinsale who looks bad-a$$ in the stills I've seen. With her starring in this, & then Van Helsing, she could be come the next absolutely HUGE cult star (i.e. Bruce Campbell). Movies like this, Equillibrium etc, get me WAY more excited than the most big summer Blockbusters, remakes, & sequals (Matrix & R.O.T.K. aside) like Fast & the Furious etc.

...as if things taking influence from the Matrix movies is inherently bad?
Well, Jackskeleton has managed to kill my enthusiasm for the project.
Kind of.

Yeah, I pick up a strong Matrix vibe, too. Throw in a little Resident Evil, and a dash of Blade...
Eh, I'll wait and until I see more to pass judgement.

I don't know what the chandlerbings mean, but if you are just going by the pics I posted. I don't understand the Matrix rip-off thing either. So nowadays, if a character in a movie where's black, that means it is a Matrix rip-off. I just don't get it?

This film still has some time before it sees release. In all honesty though, I think Beckisnale would like to aim higher than Bruce Campbell level (though I think he is hella cool).
Nevertheless, those pictures of her have me

The scenes I have seen have a really close connection to the whole hallway shootout. It really does look like it borrows a lot from the matrix.

There were good guys who wore nice clothes before The Matrix. There was wire-fu before The Matrix. There was extreme violence before The Matrix. It wasn't as if The Matrix invented any of the aspects for which it got mass-applause (with the exception of bullet time, but few movies try to copy this in seriousness anyway). It may be riding on the success of a movie, but I don't see how this makes it an inherently bad thing. As long as it's done well, I think it's more of a good thing.
Done well: Equilibrium
Done poorly (allow me to pass judgment): Bulletproof Monk--"If you think the laws of gravity don't exist, then they don't." That, my friend, is Matrix-ripoff. A bad one.
Till again.

Does anyone else think that poster looks a lot like the promotional poster for that horrible "Birds of Prey" show that was cancelled from the WB?

I'm looking forward to it... any movie with hot vampire chicks running around in laytex is a must see for me.
Actually, lableing the style of the clothing a rip-off of the matrix would probably be wrong. Goth/vamp/fetish ppl were wearing laytex long before the matrix came out.

Yeah, truthfully, if you want to call this a ripoff call if a Blade ripoff. Nonetheless it looks interesting. Though I don't have too high hopes for it. September release dates don't really show much confidence in their film, and truth be told, it does look like Blade with a chick. I'll wait to hear some good stuff on it. Anyone know if there are any good writers or directors attached to this?
