24: Season 2 - Hour 18 - 4/8/03

1 a.m. - 2 a.m.

It's Tuesday, so Kim must be running from someone.

Some mysterious sniper(s) starting shooting at Jack and company just as the Coral Snake dude was taking Kate to get his ride out of town.

Tony's got Michelle under surveillance within CTU. Carrie has some strange domestic issues with Michelle and the beau.

Mike is still pushing for immediate retaliation on "those 3 countries who shall be unnamed". Lynn isn't too resistance to that course of action. Palmer is hoping Jack will get him the proof so that he doesn't have to order the quick strike teams to pop those "3 unnamed countries".

sorry, she won't be doing any running tonight since she confesses to a cop that she ran from police, and we see a shot of her in cuffs being brought in.

Does anyone else start cracking up when they see the spot on TV with Jack and Kate and the Michelle Branch song playing over it? That song just seems very out of place with this show.

Haven't seen in. The talks of their "romance" is a bit overblown, since it only takes place in a day.

Wha... Might have to watch American Idol tonight to see the spot. (they mostly play it at the end.) And what song was it?

Pretty boring episode.
Spoiler:
The people shooting at them are people that the 7th snake worked for. They don't want him to give out the information. They get out of the building after killing the guys, but the snake gets shot on the neck. He doesn't want to go to the hospital and wants to go straight to LAX. They are on their way there when the snake starts blacking out, so they decide to take him to a nearby medical center to keep him alive long enough to get info on where the evidence is. The snake realizes he is about to die in the medical center and decides he should tell Jack. He tells Jack that is is on a microchip, but dies before he can tell him where. Jack goes by one of the xrays up on the wall and notices that the chip is inside the snake's stomach. He goes over and rips it out of his stomach at the end of the show. The rest of the show is mostly Kim crap. She confesses to the cops that she is wanted for murder and they arrest her. Back at the station the cops tell her that they have found out she is innnocent, because the girl's dad's finger prints were all over the murder weapon. The only charge against her is escaping from the cops. The cop tells her to call CTU and get help and she will probably get to walk away free. She calls Tony at CTU and she finds out that her dad is still alive. Then she calls her boyfriend in the hospital and he is mad at her for getting him into all of this stuff and he says he never wants to see her again. The camera scans down after the call to show that his legs is amputed. The President sends the national guard to Atlanta where some hate groups are starting to attack middle eastern neighborhoods. Later in the episode we find out a middle eastern child was killed in the attack.

Is Kims boyfriend the same guy who knocks the abusive dad out. And since I am stupid, whats amputated mean

Yes, that is her boyfriend. Amputed means his legs were cut off.

Well if they show it for that then they'll definitely show it when
Spoiler:
it shows Jack ripping into the snake's stomach with a knife and sticking his hand inside.

Well, it played out kinda boring to me, typical hurry up and wait cliche stuff.

Also, since
Spoiler:
CTU is so key to the investigation, aren't they using alot of their resources, including their leader, on Michelle? I'd send her home if it's gonna take 2 folks to watch her to make sure what SHE is doing is on the up and up.

Wow, I have to wonder what Blaster1's criteria for something to be "not boring"

Overall, an excellent episode since it brings several plotlines to either fruition or resolution: what happens to Miguel, the Michelle deception to Tony comes to a boil, the Wallace storyline comes to a resolution, etc.

Throw in a decent gun battle in the beginning, and it was quite enjoyable.

Venusian - was wondering for a sec if Jack was going to have to end up performing a...*cough* cavity search on Wallace...

Y2K Falcon:

Spoiler:
Michelle is their only link to Jack at the moment, and the only one Jack seems to confide in. Thus is their best link/tip for 'em.

I liked it. Although the show seemed slow down and take a few somewhat unbelievable turns in the last two episodes, things look like they're picking up for the Final Five.

From a consistency and quality standpoint, the 2nd half of Season 2 has it all over the 2nd half of Season 1.

Also, it's nice to see Miguel has a leg up on the competition.

Sorry.

if they think jack is chasing a red herring then they shouldnt dedicate so many resources to go after him. yeah he kidnapped kate and broke out of there, but they can catch him later. it seems tony is just doing it for his ego

I thought this episode was great, a breath of fresh air after the 2 relatively dull episodes.

I thought the part when Jack pulled out the gun in the clinic was funny.

Not boring at all! Excellent episode, even if I predicted most of it happening as the episode progressed.
Kiefer is great! I flashed back to him in the movie Flatliners at the end of the episode.

I thought it was good.

Kim's bf with the missing leg was a bit of a shock.

Liked the ending.

And thank god a woman on here takes the initiative and shoots a guy before she gets in more trouble. for Kate

The FOX News thing is starting to bug me.

If it were the real FOX News, we'd see O'Reilly bellowing "What do these Middle Easterners have to fear from the citizenry? If a few of them get shot, I don't really see the problem..."
