Buy 2 PS2 Games, Get 1 Free at TRU CONFIRMED ONLINE/B&M
List of eligible games is here
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...188922-2188711
It looks as though the the "within 1 week of release" pre-orders are out this time.
Must enter LPS2SFTRGAME code at checkout
Even though I'll be eating 6 bucks in shipping, I'm going to order online since both TRUS near me hear in LA maintain a pretty crappy stock. It's almost a guarantee that they won't have all 3 at one store. No sense in running around town wasting gas.
Ad Confirmation is here

Now I just wonder if they will follow with the other consoles?
When the deal happened last time it went PS2 and XBOX didn't it? I didn't get my GC till around Xmas so I don't remember if they did the deal for it. Anyway it might be time to break out the PS2 again and search for a few good games. Thanks for the rumor. Hope it pans out.

Wonder if it's for full-price games only or if it'll work for Greatest Hits as well? This is a great deal if you get in on it with some friends who want games too.
If it's avaialble at TRU B&M then it'll most probably be available online at amazon.com too (TRU's online affiliate)

Can you hold on to whatever games you get and exchange them a month later?
Or even better, could you get 3 ps2 games, and come back to exchange one of them for a GC or X-Box game?
I did something like this at Best Buy with the Gamecube + Free game deal. I got a GC with Metroid Prime, and then I went back with Metroid and exchanged it with Zelda!

I got the ad in the mail today...buy 2, get 1 free on all PS2 titles. No coupon needed. The ad says see toysrus.com for online offer.
I think you have 45 days to exchange a game as long as you haven't opened it and have the receipt.

Probably not because the receipt has the promo printed on it.

Last time, you could only exchange the two games that you actually bought. So you have to make sure that the "free" game is the one you really want to keep. What they do is charge you for two and sell the last one for free, so you can't exchange that at all, as the computer doesn't allow it.
The TRU employee who posted the deal on gamefaqs said that the receipt should show that you got in on the deal, and disallow you from getting games for other systems. Plus, if you try to return both games that you paid for, it'll make you pay for the third game. I wouldn't recomment trying to do the latter anyway, since the deal is good enough without people breaking the rules to get free games.

I try exchanging the 2 games I purchased, while keeping the third as the free game. The customer rep at TRU told me I could only exchange the games if I had all 3 games. I told them that I already open the free game and she said that they will only give me 33% of my money back if I wanted to return the other 2 games. Their excused was that it really is a 33% of sale and to get my full refund or exchange I had to have all 3 games.

Buy 3 games now get money back for 3rd Sunday?
Could I just buy all three games today and come back Sunday and get my $49.99 +tax back on the third game. The problem is that I have to work Sunday and I won't be able to get to TRU until late afternoon/early evening. By the time I am sure the good games are gone.
So is it possible to just buy the 3 games I want now and get my money back for the third game Sunday?

I don't know how it is online, but at my Toys R Us, when they did this deal last winter, I was able to buy 3 games for the price of two, return one and use that credit to buy another game that wasn't available at the original time of the sale.
One of my friends even went so far as to return one of his ps2 games that he had gotten and used the credit to buy an xbox game.
I don't know if it was just the store by me, but if you return the game for credit, you should be able to get whatever you want with it, regardless of the promotion.

Yes, you will be able to get whatever you want with the credit from returning one of the games, but when you return the game you will only get 66% of the current value of the game. So if you buy 3 games at $20/each, you will get $13.33 to use toward any game. The $20 savings is divided between the 3 games. This is what happened to me in the past.

At the sake of having this thread go crazy. What do people think about doing share the love with this deal? I'm almost positive you can do STL with video games. So three for the price of two, plus some STL would make this deal even better. Any thoughts?

Like I said in my previous post, when I exchanged games, I got the full value for the one I was returning and didn't have to pay any money for the new game. I returned one $49.99 game, and got another $49.99 game without paying a cent more.
My friend returned a ps2 game he bought during the deal worth $49.99 and a couple of weeks later, used that credit to buy Splinter Cell for the X-Box, again, without having to pay any additional money.
I don't know if it was just my store, and I don't mean to argue or dispute what others have posted here, but when I did this, I did not get 66% value for the returned game, I got the full value. Same with my friend.

The TRUs in my area seem to have the promo coded on the receipt so when you return it you only get partial credit. The only way I can think of to get full credit is to return it without a receipt, but they won't accept video games without a receipt.
Back in Sept 2000, the promo TRU ran was, buy "any" 2 video games and get 1 free. This was when I usually stocked up on games for all my systems.
Best of luck to those who try to return a game for full price.
