*poof* oh, I'm awake now, thinks Corey Haim as he reaches for his hash pipe in the wee morning hour of...wait a minute, it's four in the afternoon! You're a bum, man!

*poof* The dreams of youth all gone in a puff of coke - but at least this kid had some of his dreams met in his life. He was a huge movie star in the 1980's, and he was in some really good films like "Firstborn" (1984), "Lucas" (1986), and "The Lost Boys" (1987). I don't want to say his lack of success in the 1990's was due to drugs, although drugs did play a huge role in his failure, but most child actors simply do not make the transition to adult star easily - to put it bluntly, the cute looks of some children do not carry over when they get older. Cute suddenly becomes...well, not cute. This is mostly due to drug and alcohol abuse, but sometimes it is just genetics. We get older, and that is a very hard thing for actors who were children when they got their "big break." Just as any number of former child stars, they'll tell you the same. (I saw Willie Aames recently on some program about former child stars, and he is just horrible to look at now. They show him in a clip from Eight is Enough - the long blonde hair, the slim build, then they show him walking down the hall all chubby and s***.) Hell, at 16 we were all beautiful, no? At 30, we change. And brother, Corey Haim has changed! And while he may not have been the brightest star in the constellation, he has gotten dumber through the years because of the drugs.

Will Corey Haim ever get his dream of winning an Academy Award? Not very *****ing likely. Will he ever have a screen comeback in America? Does he have a magic genie?!

I liked Corey Haim from the '80's. Imagine if I didn't like him!

I imagine that you wouldn't have taken the time to post such a bizarre devoted to him. ;)

To quote Keanu, "Whoa." Somebody's got too much time on his hands! ;)

Or maybe he has something else in his hands. ;)

Was this prompted by a recent viewing of the E! True Hollywood Story devoted to Corey Haim? :)

Half-true. I had an old tape of License To Drive from 1988 that I watched the other night with Haim and Corey Feldman, and it prompted me to think about the E! show and that horrendous Video Diary of Haim's called Me, Myself, and I from 1989. http://www.x-entertainment.com/messages/251.html has some very funny stuff, and it's hard to believe that Haim was obviously on drugs during the making of License to Drive because Me, Myself, and I was only done a year later.

Sadly, viewing License to Drive was the last film that had a recognizable Corey Haim on it. Even a year later his image was distorted and ruined.

Fighting back tears, Buttmunker fondly recalls The Corey That Used To Be:

Speaking of distorting and ruining images...

One of the greatest shocks of my straight-to-cable viewing career was Blown Away, with both Coreys as well as the delicious Nicole Eggert (post-"Charles in Charge"). Corey H and Nicole had this sex scene that made me feel like I was watching child porn! -eek-

Somebody with a lot of talent and influence needs to embark upon a personal crusade to rescue The Coreys from obscurity. I'm talkin' sumthin' *drastic* needs to happen. Maybe try to re-energize the Batman franchise by having Feldman play Bruce Wayne, with Haim his trusty sidekick Robin?

And after Joel Schumacher gets done directing that, he can deliver the long-awaited sequel to The Lost Boys!

I don't typically jump to wacky conclusions, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Corey Haim is the Antichrist.
