Help w/ Metroid Fusion

I am stuck in metroid fusion in sector 5 there is one area that i cannot jump to and another where these 2 green things sprout of the ground and block me. I have the ice missile equipped but it just freezes them. It is driving me nuts I have been stuck here for months.

I just got past this a couple days ago:
The exit is in the small room with a single green sprout that's a couple rooms to the right of the long room with two green sprouts.

Use those ice missiles, and ...
